The nice thing here in this thread is we can talk about it civilly. I spent a very scary (masochistic) hour tonight looking at the Twitter accounts of the 'haters', seeing if I could work out what makes them tick. It seems all I could work out is they have small vocabularies, they can't differentiate between 'your' and 'you're' and they even write 'use' as in 'youse'...both of which make my hair stand on end. Sadly, it seems that like me, most are female. Worst of all, many are proud of the vitriol they spew. I think I'm getting old, because it really saddens me.

I hear you! It does sadden me - and sicken me ... and then I just have to laugh when you look at the profile of someone who is spewing forth with vile stuff and they describe themselves as "fun loving, happy, laid back" ... guess they forgot to take the happy pills before signing into twitter

it amazes me to read that the worst of the people who troll on twitter etc are female in the 30-49 age bracket - not teenagers as I would have expected ..

if they so despise someone why follow them at all? why when ever they are mentioned by another HM do they then flood the thread with hatred and ruin the whole vibe for everyone else

I chatted with my son last night about it and he said "they're trolls - its all just a joke" and laughed it off ... but as I said to him I'd just watched the segment on 60 Minutes about a young girl who'd been bullied and abused at school and after continued bullying online she killed herself. Do these people actually ever think that one day their vileness could lead to a tragic thing like that - and do they think that's a joke?!

Having a fake persona to hide behind and anonymity makes them oh so brave ... when really they're the biggest cowards out there ...

I would love to see Tully write an article or do an interview at some point in the future that addresses online behaviour because she had a background with working in it and a wider knowledge of the various platforms ... and it would be interesting to hear what she thinks of it, how its affected her and how she copes with it ... although it might just draw even more fire towards her ...

I went to Fed square tonight. Took my daughter and her friend to meet Drew, but they never managed to be in the right place at the right time. They met everyone except Drew. He was mobbed at all times and got by far the loudest cheer when they were introduced. Jade and Tahan are absolutely stunning, and both so friendly with everyone. Rohan and Xavier, both very funny and natural with the fans. Ed, as much as I am surprised at myself for saying it is actually very attractive in real life.

Boog was Boog. Cute, adorable, very friendly. Jaz was lovely and bright. Sharon seemed a little reserved, but that could have been because it was pouring with rain and her kids were there. She might have been worried about them being cold and wet. All the housemates got soaked. As did everyone in the crowd. Jade brought that cold and wet weather back with her.

Thanks for posting this... I always liked Xavier and was sad to see him go so early. I wish you were able to see drew though, not for my sake, but know you were a fan. One day maybe

Kinda getting over Drew & Tully already. Within another week I probably won't even follow them anymore. If Drew has so much time for the haters then he should have more time for the lovers. My tweets just go unanswered and frankly, I find it offensive.

He has thousands of people tweeting at him every day. He can't reply to them all. If you are that desperate for recognition, wait until it has all calmed down a bit and he doesn't have so many coming at him. In the meantime, tweet Rohan, he nearly always responds, or at least favourites tweets to him.

I agree with you. I don´t find it funny, i find it offensive and nasty. In my opinion, it´s not a smart attitude. He should focus on his fans.

You are taking it too personally they are hundreds of people tweeting him its not personal if he doesn't see yours and respond. Ratio wise he's responded to very few haters compared to interacting with fans and then he's only responded to the ones that directly contact him to call Tully a whore. I don't know many people who could ignore that sort of tweet.

Drew tweets late at night there are a lot less people tweeting him then, you might have better luck during then to be noticed.

Well I saw him, but my daughter really wanted a photo. It's her birthday on the weekend and she asked me to take her to meet Drew for her birthday. I didn't want to go to Crown, so was glad to find out about this tonight. Poor thing, we saw him when we got there, and people were getting their photo taken with him, and she was right there when he got called away, then at the end when they all came back out again, she was at the front, but near the end. every other housemate came past and she got her photo taken with them but Drew was about a metre away when he was pulled away again. He didn't want to go, but he literally got shepherded away by security.

I agree. I would always make sure I focus all my energy and reply to EVERY tweet that comes my way (no matter how many followers I have)

Sounds like you had great time, and shame you didnt get to meet Drew.

Hopefully they will reply soon. They would getting 1000's of tweets asking about tully/drully all the time...Drew seems to reply to the ones about his time in the house, and asking him q's about himself. He has only tweeted about 100 times..it's not like he has tweeted heaps, and you haven't had a reply yet:)

I think it's hysterical that the same people making fun of Tahlia for selling her story and, yes, lashing out somewhat vindictively at the two people who caused her a lot of pain.... are the same people who are also cheering on Drew for getting bitchy on twitter and lashing out somewhat vindictively at those trying to hurt him and his new gf.

Double standards much?

Why is it okay for Drew to speak out against the anonymous people throwing hate at him on the internet, but it's not okay for Tahlia to speak out against the two NON anonymous people who hurt her?

Why is Drew allowed to be mad that people are making fun of Tully, but Tahlia isn't allowed to be mad that her ex girlfriend cheated on her, disrespected her in front of the entire nation and treated her like she was entirely worthless and inconsequential?

Why is Drew allowed to express his anger in bitchy nasty tweets, but Tahlia isn't allowed to express her anger in a one-off story?

Why is Drew's retaliation commendable, but Tahlia's not?

Why is Tahlia expected to take the high road when clearly you guys are loving Drew taking the low road?

Either label both scenarios immature, spiteful, not a good look etc etc, or admit they're both okay. You can't pick and choose, you can't say one is fine and one is not. Stop being hypocrites and start being reasonable.

As far as Drew answering everyone that tweets him ... I think he's getting inundated and he isn't that into spending that much time with his phone ... some people love that sort of thing ... others don't

I noticed when Boog went home to Melbourne on the 09th she hasn't posted to twitter since ... so she's a prime example of not being attached to her phone and just getting on with life ...

Plus - if they've been on the go with appearances and finally do get home I imagine they've got some catching up to do with friends and family and then it didn't seem they got home for long before they were off to this appearance tonight.

just looking at that pic of Drew and the puppy and the crap that's posted under it I can understand he'd get pretty sick of reading it very quickly and put the phone down and wander off to do something more interesting ...

To be that close and that far away at the same time would be so frustrating! But hey, the plus side is she got to take pics with the others and see drew in person I guess :) Drew would need a lot of chaperoning from security guards I imagine.

Yep! As per Mrs B's post of twitter - rather than respond to Tully's post, Drew chooses to interact with a hater. Just ignore them! Tully and people who like you are the people you should interact with! Everyone has haters! Be a bigger person and get over it! And that applies to Tully to and her sulk from Tahlia's article. Why care about what Tahlia says when you claim to not care about her? Be the bigger person and move on rather than bitching on Twitter.

If you look at his timeline, he's actually been answering a lot of people back tonight. He also has to live his life (crazy, I know) and he just got back home a day or two ago.

His focus IS on his fans. he posts pictures and general tweets. He owes us nothing really, same as we don't owe him. I really don't get why people expect personal messages...absurd.

As always Crimmy, well said. I've noticed drew likes a good pun and will reply to quirky or clever comments. So maybe mikidiki could try that?

so you think it was it a mistake because it was deleted or because of what they said about Drew?

I wonder if any of the HM's will be nominated for next years Cleo's Bachelor of the Year?
Unless Drew has some sort of career by then, they're more likely to go with Ed...if he's single.

Thanks for sharing, I love hearing stories like these. Such a shame you missed out on meeting Drew! I would love to meet Boog, she seems like she would be such a fun, happy person to meet.

I don´t expect personal messages. I hate them. But I just follow him on twitter and it´s pretty unpleasant to see him replying with offensive tweets. It´s better to ignore them, that´s all.
