Ratings Thread 2013

Dunno but I just watched it on plus7 (channel 7's online catchup)

I was wondering if it had a forum akin to behindbigbrother how many of the 'geeks' would be outed as actors and how many of the 'beauties' are more intelligent than they portray. Guilty light entertainment regardless.

I've decided not to think about who's acting and who's genuine. It takes away from the enjoyment for me.

Didn't know there was an online catch up, so thank you for that!!!! I'll try to watch it tonight, in between walking the dog, watching BB and playing farmville - lmao ;)

Every network is pretty good with it now

ABC: www.abc.net.au/iview/
SBS: www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/
7: http://au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7/
9: http://catchup.ninemsn.com.au
10: www.tenplay.com.au

They all have an iPhone / iPad app as well (NINE's is integrated with Jump In)
Some have android/windows apps too.

DAILY SHOW - FRIDAY, 11TH OCTOBER 2013

577k - #10 in total people.

#2 in 25-54 demo and #1 in 18-49 & 16-39 demos.

These are probably our lowest numbers yet but still surprisingly high in all demos! Big Brother is looking likely to return next year. :)

The viewers aren't that important, it's the demos and I'm surprised how BB has manged to stay in the top 5 for both demos. Hope it does return next year! :)

im 95%sure we'll be seeing it next year, just depends if producers have great ideas for it really...
id love to see evil strict BB come back, he too nice since coming to 9...

Maybe I'm just a softie but I actually find it more entertaining when BB is "nice". It's one of the things I preferred about the earlier seasons - once he became the "oppressor" things started feeling a bit staged and sensationalistic (well, more so than normal). I think it makes for better TV when he's playing the part of the paternalistic figure because it gives the HM's the illusion that someone is on their side and ultimately makes them more comfortable opening up and being themselves in the diary room.

I do, however, miss Uplate and Uncut. Stupid censorship.

fair point!
maybe they need to find a point inbetween, fun but firmer when required.

TV ratings are a furfy in the internet age. Its about time they take into account people downloading to watch at a later time.
Most people download over watching it on the tv network. Its a changing world.

And a third of the tv audience no longer watches any tv shows aired in the world. Many are using Youtube to get their entertainment. TV stations have download sites so if a viewer misses a show its replayed. BB has a Youtube channel too and no blasted ads except one up front.

Then there are sites like Netflicks I think its called. Foxtel has its own download area for members.

Then there are all the other sites.

Really tv ratings are a nonsense until they take into account the downloads off the internet.
TV networks can't understand anywhere in the world why their shows aren't getting the tv ratings.
They've not worked out that most are downloading to watch at a later date.

Take the tv show Alcatraz. Was cancelled after season 1 but was the most download tv show in history.
They ought to do what the tv show sanctuary did and that was placement advertising in the show which they did
for the first 3 seasons which paid for the show and was a free download. Then foxtel brought them out and
the tv ratings fell because they couldn't work out that people were downloading. Think the series was then cancelled.

So why don't the tv execs get with the times. Placement ads and have a download area like some US TV networks are now doing
which raises more money in advertising than shows aired on tv.

They need EVENT STYLE television to compete with those shows, NOT a Daily Show... If they start the week with 800K viewers, it is VERY HARD to gather momentum... I really don't know if a Wednesday Eviction will ever crack the Magic Million...

magic million is a nice ideology... but it topped all demos last Wednesday!
