It's awesome.
Unfortunately a very common misperception. Insulin is just supplying what's missing in the body - but with type 1, OTHER hormones made by the pancreas are also affected, so the body doesn't cope with highs OR lows in blood sugar. It's kinda like if you have your tonsils removed you can no longer block your nose without external pressure (physically blocking your nose); if your pancreas has stopped making insulin, it's stopped making/using somatostatin and glucagon too - so if there's too much insulin on board (or you don't eat enough, or you exercise, or you get sad ... or any number of other things), your blood glucose drops and there's no safety net.
With type 2, the pancreas still (usually) makes *some* insulin, and the other drug responses are mostly normal - although many type 2s who inject insulin will experience "hypos". They are usually less severe than those that type 1s have.
It's really hard for the general public to "get" the difference, sadly.
(I'm married to a type 2, just incidentally - we met on a diabetes mailing list amd have been married almost 16 years!)

Considering the voting has finished (on Wednesday - or so I have read in another post) it seems strange to keep the unlucky intruder hanging around all this time in isolation, just to be told on Monday that he is off the show because of the outcome of a vote that happened days before.
I can't understand why they didn't keep the voting open longer and let the intruders hang out with the other housemates until Monday.
Of course take this with a grain of salt but thought I'd share anyway just in case. It's under the Spafternoon post on the BB Facebook page for anyone who wants to see the conversation.
"Justynn has been kicked off the show by BB producers for an "act of aggression" yesterday. Nathan is still there. Will be interesting to see how BB spins this on Monday."
