If his logic was only to save himself - knowing he had 0 & thinking there were 6 nominees, he should have just given 1 pt to any 6 others (since he was allowed to distribute however he wanted). His choice of Tahan especially makes no sense because he had to know she would likely have several points & even with Jade it would be a fair assumption since he knows Tahan doesn't like her. Overall, dumb moves or not thought through

He didn't know (and unfortunately wasn't shrewd enough to comprehend) that less HMs means a decrease in number of nominated HMs. He thought by distributing votes among those that cause or are in conflict (Tahan, Jade) would force them to decide final noms if there was a tie. Also by giving Drew a few points, Ed makes certain he is the only one at zero and can't be in a tie for the final nomination spot.

[MENTION=35078]DancingClown[/MENTION], I hope the public will understand this. I doubt it.

Shame they're scrapping the "sacrifice" element of Showdown. They should have kept it and just stuck with 3 nominees, and then saved and replaced as usual. Now we're in a situation where half the HMs know they're safe.

On the plus side the twins are gone!

I cannot stand that arrogant sneaky guy
Fooling around with jade,never say something towards mickala,
But still nominate them over and over again
I wish that jade would open her eyes and see ed for what he really is

He played it safe. You can't blame him for that.

You could guess that Jade and Tahan will get points, but at the end of the day how can you be sure?! Drew was on 0 points this week, wasn't he nominated one week? Tully was not nominated last week but was up this week. Jade only had what 4 points last week... 4 points could have been given by one housemate as far as he knows (2 of the points were from Drew who had extra points to give out with the power, so the other 2 were probably from one person). Why bank on Tahan voting for her. You never know Tahan may have chosen Mikkayla after the big blow up which is what some people seemed to have expected.

I thought he was stupid at first, but then I realised he had a good thought behind it, which I overlooked (making sure that he wasn't left on 0 with 2 other people). I am thinking between the bad explanation from Ben, not being told it was a 4 nominee week and the pressure of thinking on the spot and in the hot seat, it was not as simple as some are making it out. I think he did fine, esp with the explanation he was given. The only thing he could have done better is to nominate two possible 0 pointers for 1 point each and then use the rest on someone he really wants up. But I didn't even think of that for ages afterwards anyway.

ahhh I see, you are right i re watched it, I completely missed the thing about the tie breaker. I couldn't work out why he nominated all 3 of the remaining ones who were/possibly on 0. At least he had some sort of a startegy there. I thought he just didn't realise that only two of them had to have at least 1 point for him to be safe. Then he could have whacked the rest of the points on who he really wanted up. He did say that he nominated the those 3 just for the tie breaker and to make sure they aren't on 0 points.

But I don't think he should have been expected to assume that this is the week BB changes the nominee number. Even though I bet that all the housemates have had a discussion about that being a possibility.

Pas op! I'm Team Ed :) Ed is no prince (see my earlier explanation) and I'm okay with that. Ed and Jade are using each other for a pash. Not Ed's fault that Jade is getting emotionally involved. Wake up and smell the edit.
 
I feel like no one would save katie and lucy and that they will go this week and thus make this not a very big week...
 
Can anyone explain exactly what was so "unprecedented" about Ben's power at nominations? He got nothing special, just 5 points to nominate with and the ability to help Ed while seeing the tally board. There wasn't any real power there.

No, there was none. He should have at least been able to do his nominations last. Or give Ed a couple of false answers or something. It was pointless, and all it did was drag out the noms process.

Ed is using Jade to try to make himself relevant on the show he has almost no interest in her and almost no attachment to her (see noms) he had his hands down at his side when they kissed in the rain he didn't even want to touch her. She picked him solely for his looks and won't see the truth right in front of her face so I guess she gets what she has asked for.

She isnt such a bad person, but i have no sympathy for her. When you pick someone on oooks you deserve all the shit you cop.
You would think Mature adults wouldnt be doing that stuff

Haha I noticed this and thought this guy is the biggest douche ! Ed is either gay or just a complete prick for using jade either way ed should pick a side and stick to it'

Yes, they are playing a game and Jade is an actress. Ed gave Jade & Tahan points in the hopes that if there was a tie they would chose someone else. Ed also gave Drew points to make sure Ed was the only HM on zero points.

She is a nice person just hasn't learned that just because someone is handsome it doesn't make them a good person and doesn't mean they will treat you well. She has picked the perfect person to drive this lesson home, I hope she learns it now not later in life.

It's a game after all and honesty isn't always the best strategy. Why choose a side now? Don't do it until you are forced to. Also remember we are getting the edit Alex and co. want us to see. No 24/7 live feeds to see how HMs really are.
