Tully tops eviction list after being criticised for her negativity

The Big Brother housemates ganged up on Tully tonight giving her a whopping 15 points in the lead-up to the next round of evictions.

The 25-year-old social media strategist was hit with four points from Mikkayla, three each from Tim and Caleb, two each from Matthew and Jade, and one from Katie &Lucy.

"I think that (Tully's) negativity is continuing to be a draining influence on the house," Mikkayla said, justifying her vote.

"She uses negativity to be manipulative to try and get sympathetic attention. You can show emotion but the way she constantly does it is tiresome and we've all had enough."

Caleb used a similar excuse to justify his vote.

"She sees the glass as half empty rather than half full," he said. "I think she needs to try and see the positives in things and make the whole experience more enjoyable."

Jade also had a crack at Tully for hurting her friendship with Tim and Drew.

"She has an emotional reaction to almost everything that happens and there are days when I don't see Drew anymore because he's constantly supporting her," Jade said.

The other five housemates to fill out the eviction list are Caleb (9 points), Jade (8), Ed, (6), Tahan (6), and Mikkayla (3).

In a twist, Caleb had two points added to his own tally by Big Brother for attempting to influence nominations.

This is the first week that Caleb and Ed have been nominated for eviction by their fellow housemates.

Tim was especially scathing about Caleb.

"I think he's a bit of a sheep," Tim said. "A lot of times I feel his mood's affected by the group. It's starting to get on my nerves. I'm getting blamed for group disharmony and he's taken it upon himself to be the carer of the whole flock. Majority rules for him. Are sheep the smartest animals on the farm?"

Heidi had the Insider Super Power this week thanks to Jasmin who bequeathed it to her after she was evicted.

Heidi ended up giving two points each to Tim, Jade and Tahan.

"Boy Tim has caused some trouble this week," Heidi said. "I feel like he is trying to control the game and I don't want to be controlled."

There will be one more change to the eviction list during Thursday's Twisted House episode when a switch will take place between a nominated and safe housemate.

Gay marriage, refugees, ANZAC Day -Big Brother gets serious.

“Vote 1 for Gay Marriage!”

“Has anyone ever met a refugee?”

Was that really an episode of Big Brother I just watched?

Nine’s decision to screen a Late Night Feast edition of Big Brother was its most intriguing episode so far, and brought home the value of the show’s format.

Screening an “adult-friendly” edition, instead of the relentless family-friendly editions allowed us to get to know the housemates more deeply than some of the stunts and antics that have screened so far.

Housemates were treated to a banquet (and a fair bit of plonk) and prompted to answer questions that had been prepared by Big Brother.

Matt explained how a fellow soldier came out to him in Afghanistan, and he respected him more.

Mikkalaya said we were a society based on immigrants. Jade spoke about how the lack of controls in Italy had led to problems within that country. Ed is friends with an ex-refugee from Sudan and supported multiculturalism.

Matt spoke about the value of ANZAC Day and what it meant to him. Heidi said how much impact visiting Gallipoli had made on her.

Caleb talked about firefighters who had died of cancer.

“You learn more about people when you touch on topics like that,” said Ben.

But the show couldn’t resist a round of Truth or Dare which led to pashing (including same-sex pashing), a strip from Drew, pole-dancing from Ed and later, dancing, spas and a few nudie-runs. The most nudity that was shown was a bare behind, a long way short of previous incarnations.

It also kind of left me feeling pretty ripped-off about the 7pm version.

I understand there are some topics that can’t run in a PG timeslot. Refugees, gay marriage, soldiers in Afghanistan are not amongst them. Nine needs to give the producers more flexibility more often if it wants to address some sliding numbers.

Tony Abbott's daughters Frances and Bridget embarrassed again as he draws attention to their attractiveness in a video pitch to Big Brother housemates.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has joined Kevin Rudd, Christine Milne and Clive Palmer in pitching for votes to the Big Brother housemates.

But his message ends in another squirmworthy moment for his long suffering daughters, who look horrified as he finishes his pitch by saying: "If you want to know who to vote for I'm the one with the not bad looking daughters, isn't that great?"

While his daughters laugh at the remark, they urge the housemates the support their Dad.

Even the Big Brother housemates clearly think it a big wacky, and some can be heard saying “weird” during his pitch.

I'm currently listening to the podcast at 2x speed. At the moment I'm listening to them speaking about the HMs hearing the politicians videos. I've gotta say, this is making me appreciate Kyle and Jackie O more. Perhaps I'm just not a melbournite. To me, this show sounds like it would more suit AM radio. Jo is too serious and Matt is trying to make it funny.... I didn't realise that I was a Sydney-ite. Hahah
