I think Tim knows Ben is going to haters and lovers so he is playing both, being "nice" while also taking the piss
 
To be fair (re drew not knowing his "wife"'s phone number) I've been with my girlfriend for 8 years and I don't know hers because I just tell Siri "call Sapphysgirlfriend" or press her name in the phone menu. Whereas I know my Mum's number without even thinking because she got her phone years and years ago, before I had one.

Me too.
I like the way he can change his personality to suit the conversation, he seems to be able to say the right thing at the right time in a humorous way.
