Hmm the pool last year was the best of any series by far for the Housemates I think.Even when they did it last year, it seemed kind of half hearted as it is still the old rectangular pool with shallow side additions. Which just makes me think they hit pipes or something when they were digging it out so just improvised around them.

The 2005 backyard was very different to the 2006 yard. The only thing similar was the pool. 2007 was basically the exact same as 2006 yard just with different colours which yes was very disappointing but the 2006 yard is probably my favourite out of all of the houses.2005,2006,2007 yard was the same shape every season. Pool was in the same spot and most of it looked unchanged in 06 and 07. Was a bit of a disappointment imo

2006 in general was a nice house. A bit weird with the hot pink kitchen, cow skin bedroom and yellow couch but I really liked it. The 2006 diary room is my fav too and the yard is my fav too! I liked how the gym was tucked away and the spa was awesome. The rewards room was awesome and everything felt open and summery. Miss that season

Yes the whole 2006 House I must admit was my favourite. I am so jealous of the Housemates of season 2006 getting to live in that house!2006 in general was a nice house. OK guess what I've got... aerials! By some absolute luck I was able to acquire them although the window of opportunity was short lived and is no longer working.

The wonky kitchen roof is gone. There's a blueish foor in the FNL arena. Originally thought roofing but the shadow from the gum tree makes it look like a floor. The captains quarters is getting a make over however it would appear the pool is staying. There appears to be something wooden extending from the inside area of the captains quarters.
The yard hasn't changed to a great deal so I'm thinking the pool and sitting area are staying. There are some platform things with what looks like supports - unsure if these are merely construction related elevated platforms or something more permanent relating to "sky high"?

Bucking the system
I just noticed something on the top of the roof. I don't know if its the sun or if they have rebuilt it?
I've been wondering about that. Looking at the shadow lines, the shadows cast by the object seem to indicate that the large fittings on top of the poles do not go straight to the ground (the shadows cast are NOT parallel to other shadows.
Taking a wild guess, how about a large rear projection screen that is slightly angled downward to face into the backyard? The dark box behind the screen being the projection unit.

First image of the House! What does that tell you? We are getting close!
Yep! This wall looks rather close to the other wall with the oneway mirror - is it the corridor to the Diary Room?
Or is it near to this photo?

Ahhh... stone age big brother, where updates from the house are sent via the latest in smoke signals.![]()
I'll definitely make a photo of that and post it in the photoshop thread.

john might've been the walrus, but paul was a cat
Nice find, Marquisite! I love modern houses that do a small section of that type of brickwork accompanied by a flat coat of paint, so I'm hoping to see that this year. I know it seems pedantic to ask for a nice house - but it's something that's in every shot and I really hate it when the houses are dull. Last years house was a bit of an example of this - it felt too dull as they seemed to use a lot of flat colour schemes in the rooms. The house I would say looked best was '06 - there were lots of sections where the wall had split coloursand overall it seemed really 'fresh'.

I remember that image was captioned something like "Let me shed some light on the situation - this is one of the most important rooms in the house". I would say Diary room, but given the reflective mirror is on the outside of the room and the room itself seems very narrow - I think "most important" is meant to be tongue in cheek and it's actually the thunderbox!

I agree 100% BB06 had bright colours and quirky designs everywhere. We had a hot pink dining room, cow skin pattern in the bedrooms and the diary room had this funky wallpaper. Really enjoyed that house aesthetically

But that could be the back wall

To accurately speculate, I think it needs to be established which part of the picture is the "room" they are talking about. I was assuming it was the back part. I'm more willing to believe it is the diary room if they are talking about the foreground because the frame would be ideal to use to fit a door into the camera runs - remember there is always at least two doors into the diary room so the producers can provide housemates with things via the diary room.
