The very first thing I noticed when I saw the new logo is that orangey/yellow type of lighting above the eye. It immediately makes me think of fire? I have no idea what it could mean but I do really, really hope that it is an intentional colouring decision and that maybe somehow it's a subtle clue alluding to something else? If so, I don't know what it could be, but I hope it means something... the choice of colouring seems a bit random otherwise.
Just my two cents.
Apart from that, it looks pretty much the same as the 2012 one, but I do like the new font. However, marquisite's logo mock-up on the previous page looks freakin' amazing though!!!! If only.

WOO! Friday Night Live may be back!

Our Facebook fans have asked and Big Brother has answered. Get a glimpse into BB’s plans for 2013 and what he has (or hasn’t?) got in store for the lucky few who will shortly call the BB House home.
Will you be doing Friday Night Games this season? (Dona R)
Ahhh Dona, the question I get asked more than any other. BB can only say fans of Friday Night Games will be very happy with our schedule...
What will be different this year? Can we expect a lot of surprises? (Tiffany M)
Nothing will be different and there will be no surprises. Tiffany! Don't you know who I am? Big Brother will always change the game and this year will be no exception. The ninjas have been watching The Block and have been taking tradie classes and have started ripping apart the House and building a whole set of new and secret rooms. 2013 Housemates should come with no preconceptions and remember the number one rule – "Big Brother reserves the right to change the rules at any time."
Big Brother what would you say about a birth in the House? (Zoe M)
Big Brother would be worried about his expensive carpet.
Last year I think you went a bit soft on the Housemates. Are you going to get a bit tougher on them this year? (Carole P)
Carole, Big Brother is mellowing in his old age – of that there is no doubt. However, last year’s Housemates were relatively well behaved so it was easy to be slightly more chilled. Talking without microphones, nominating for silly reasons and sharing nomination information will always anger Big Brother and there will always be consequences.
Will Big Brother’s Little Sister return or will she become a teenager? (Monique G)
My Little Sister is a law unto herself, Monique, and I have no idea what her plans are. I only see her when she asks to borrow money or tries to squeeze info about BB2013 out of me.
Are there going to be more twists? I liked watching seasons where an ex bf was brought in or the mother daughter that no one knew or the twins. (Sarah T B)
Sarah, while the rest of you were opening Christmas presents, celebrating Easter and generally getting on with your lives – Big Brother remained hard at work, plotting and planning for 2013. I can assure you you’ll like this season even more …
Hey Big Brother. Have you ever been wrong? And did you say sorry? (Trout Woodend)
Firstly, great name. Once . . . In 1987, Big Brother's favourite song was 'Never Gonna Give You Up". Big Brother thought the very talented singer of this popular tune was called Rick ASHLEY but later found out he was, in fact, Rick ASTLEY. I was wrong and I admit it.
Since then? Never.
Big Brother never says sorry.
How do you get your voice to sound so sexy? (Jamie O)
I am what I am Jamie.

Doubt Friday Night Games in its previous form will return. A similar show where the Housemates compete in challenges to gain some sort of nominations power is something more likely though. Not sure if it will be a spin off show or just added to the Daily Show but if it is a full spin off show, it won't be on Friday because the NRL is on that night unless they play it on GO. Maybe a Saturday Night type of thing?

I'd like to see more BB content on GO!... It was disappointing last year that they shifted and shuffled around, and took everything off of GO!... Hopefully BB Confidential is axed this year and replaced with a proper insiders show... If FNL is to return in some form hopefully it is tied in to the twist and not just a bunch of privileges just for the sake of it...
I think I've made it obvious that the twist I'd most like to see this year is The Battle... They could tack on a live challenge to the eviction and add a dedicated 1/2 hour highlights show to make up the difference... I really don't see a point in spinning a challenge off in to it's own show and tacking it on to the end of the eviction episode should ensure more viewers are guaranteed to watch it...
How will Channel 9 get around the issue of FNL being a Channel Ten spin off (e.g. it is credited to the channel and not BB)? I guess there are a number of possibilities: such as 9 bought the FNL rights, the new show will only sort of be like FNL, or perhaps there's another agreement with Ten on the spinoff shows by them where ownership has expired after X years?
I'd much rather them follow BBUK's lead and put up live streaming "blocks" on tv. They could give interesting "live" tasks to individual or small groups of housemates if the events of the house at the time were a little boring. But will Channel 9 actually do something like this? Probably not...
.
I hope BB Little Sister (the tv show) does NOT make a return. It was incredibly boring, highly edited and serves no connection to the BB format (lock up a group of HMs in a house together with no contact with the outside world). Confidential... well, if the format was less magazine like and even M-rated to show stuff we havent actually seen, then cool, I'll watch.
PS: Dare I mention "Big Brother Extra" that was promised by never happened?
*ducks*

You've hit the nail on the head... If Channel 10 owns FNL (and I doubt they do) all Nine has to do is change a few minor things and Channel 10 can't do anything about it... It really is that simple... Just because Channel 10 owns a very specific format doesn't mean they own an entire genre... It's not as if just because they held the rights to Australia Idol that another very similar show couldn't show up on another network... All it takes is one difference and the format is no longer considered to be the same... It is silly to think Nine would even be concerned with Channel 10 in this matter...

Sounds like they're definitely gonna cater for the copious amounts of requests for an FNL-type of return this year.
Personally, I could never (and still don't) understand why it has always constantly been the number one, biggest thing that people complain about/ask for since BBAU came back...

A fire pit, maybe? A wood burning stove and heating? An active volcano in the yard?

I would rather live streaming over FNL to be honest.
Although it would be clever if BB relaunched FNL or something similar because my fondest memories of growing up with BB when I was younger was FNL and it proves to be highly popular with children so it would bring the ratings. Only problem is the NRL being on Friday nights but i'm sure there wouldn't be any issues with it being on Saturday or something?
Also interesting to note that they highlighted the fact that BB can change the rules at any time.... I always forget about that rule.

They make a note of saying it every year. It's basically an escape clause for them. Also interesting to note that they highlighted the fact that BB can change the rules at any time.... I always forget about that rule.

Exactly who we don't want watching. It's not meant to be a children's show.
It would be a similar situation to Big Mouth and BBLB in the UK - a change of channel and the spin off shows change their name and tweak their format - that is all FNL would have to do.You've hit the nail on the head... Don't C9 still have live sport on a Friday though? If they must have a live challenge show do it on a Monday and bump the nominations to Tuesday - it makes sense to have any challenge that could affect noms in between the eviction and the noms.

TBH though I think the only reason Channel 5 changed things was because they wanted to... That being said the answer they've given alludes to the fact that they aren't just reviving FNL... It will be changed to fit within the Channel 9 version...
