A 65-year-old man has become the 12th person arrested on suspicion of sexual offences under Operation Yewtree.
Scotland Yard detectives arrested the man at an address in Somerset on Thursday morning. His arrest falls under the "others" strand of Operation Yewtree, meaning it is not directly linked to alleged offences by Jimmy Savile.
"We are not prepared to discuss the matter further," said the Metropolitan police in a statement.
The arrest comes a day after David Smith, a former driver for celebrities in the 1980s, became the first to be charged on suspicion of sexual offences under Operation Yewtree. Smith was charged with five sexual offences on a boy aged under 14 in 1984 and will appear at Westminster magistrates court on 8 May.
Twelve men, including the comedians Freddie Starr and Jim Davidson, have been arrested and bailed since Operation Yewtree was launched last October. Others who have been arrested include the singer Gary Glitter, publicist Max Clifford and DJ Dave Lee Travis.

A 65-year-old man has become the 12th person arrested on suspicion of sexual offences under Operation Yewtree.
Scotland Yard detectives arrested the man at an address in Somerset on Thursday morning. His arrest falls under the "others" strand of Operation Yewtree, meaning it is not directly linked to alleged offences by Jimmy Savile.
"We are not prepared to discuss the matter further," said the Metropolitan police in a statement.

BRITISH police have interviewed an alleged victim of a top Australian entertainer arrested last week for suspected sexual assault.
The 83-year-old showbiz star was arrested last Thursday after a lengthy interview by detectives from Operation Yewtree which has so far arrested 11 suspects for alleged assaults dating back to the 1960s.
The man, who has not been named and has engaged lawyers to defend the claims, was bailed to again appear before police in May.
News Ltd has learned Metropolitan Police in London have now interviewed a female alleged victim of the Aussie star.
She has had a long association with the man and approached police last year with information that prompted the investigation.
It is understood the woman has alleged she was assaulted over a lengthy period of time predominantly in the UK.
It is believed state police in Australia have been liaising with the British police, via the Australian Federal Police; critical to their probe has been whether there are other claims that could now surface to confirm or not a pattern of abuse from his early days in Australia in the 1960s.
British police have declined to confirm or deny they now have a victim in the UK, as opposed to third party claims, or that their investigation has now swung to potential witnesses in Australia............."

When it comes to this retarded back and forth forum volley ball thing we have going on, you need to take the moral high ground and stop because it is now obvious to me that I don’t have the self-control to stop the madness.
Just so we are straight, I have no problem with “I” and “we” discussions as a rule. However when used selfishly or inappropriately I am going to bite. I have a problem with “I” statements when people make a situation which has nothing to do with, them all about them, and I have a problem with “we” statements when posters falsely speak on behalf of a majority.
I felt and voiced that Moonchild was self-centred to make an alleged crime committed by Rolf Harris against the innocent all about her own shattered misguided admiration for him and her personal disappointment. There was no mention of his victims in her post, only a weird open type letter to Rolf. I also feel you are incorrect when you speak on behalf of the majority of forum members with the sole purpose of justifying or validating your own individual feelings. I also found it beyond bizarre that you felt your parents are better off dead than knowing Rolf might be a peddy, but that is a whole other story, I mean for all I know you could hate your parents, which of course would make your statement a little less bonkers.
We obviously are very different people and are attracted to very different type posters, and that’s okay. You are obviously never going to respect my opinion and I am simply frustrated by the inaccuracies of yours. But the good news, there is enough room for both of us.

I remember as a child being so impressed with Zig and Zag, would sing their song.... "You and me can we be partners, you and me can we be friends"
As a child I would not have had any trust issues with Zig or Zag, children trust!

Of course people are allowed to have and express their own feelings about public affairs, it is the very foundation a forum is built on.
I think the bigger question in this situation is, are people not allowed to respond to how they feel when others express their own feeling about public affairs?
