Frocks, Frolics and Fotos

Speaking of modelling shows, remember Rhys Uhlich who won Make me a Supermodel (Au) years ago? He's playing Georgia's boyfriend in Neighbours at the moment. Not a great actor. We haven't seen much of him but he kind of blends into the background.

This guy...

he looks older and skinnier now.

I noticed him in a Big W catalogue (or similar) just after he won that show.... I thought 'well he went places' LOL. A catalogue model was not what they were going for!

Hmmm yes Sharon is involved in PETA now however up until the mid 2000 she had a wardrobe full of furs, pretty slow on the uptake in my opinion.

While I support the ethos of PETA I have never quite been able to understand everyone's outrage at people wearing furs when they themselves probably have a closet full of leather shoes, belts etc.

Because leather is a by-product of the meat we eat every day (not saying abattoirs are great but let's face it, most of us love a steak).

Fur farms however, are horrific, inhumane, cruel places where the animals are skinned alive or electrocuted and the body thrown on the scrapheap. Google "Chinese fur farm" :(

So you know for sure that all the cows, sheep, Pigs etc around the world are killed humanly? I would not have thought that was the case at all. Saying Leather is a by product is a meat eaters justification, we don't need to eat meat to survive. Why is it ok to kill some animals but not others? Don't get me wrong, I am a meat eater I just find it so hypocritical that people get up in arms about some causes to do with animals but not others.

I am 100% opposed to the wearing of Fur but do find it odd that people are selective about the animals they go to great lengths to protest for. (excluding endangered species) As you mention it should be about the way they are killed not that they are killed. (just my opinion, not saying I am right)

The sad fact is that we all know that animals are not transported and killed humanely around the world. We should all be calling for an end to the horrific live export trade to stop the appalling suffering to which our cattle and sheep are being subjected. I also think that a meat eater has a vested interest in animals being slaughtered humanely. A vegetarian, who doesn't wear leather, has made sure that their footprint is very light and their conscience is clear. I was a vegetarian, but now eat meat that is killed in Australia under strict regulation and is certified free-range and factory-free. However, no-one needs to wear fur or leather, and the fur industry in particular is based on cruelty.

Death in itself is not an issue. We all die - it's the quality of the life lived and the manner of the death that is the great issue, in my opinion. As civilized people, we should all take steps to ensure that our fellow sentient beings are treated with dignity and respect.

Regarding those letters between Lady Gaga and Sharon Osborne - I agreed with Lady Gaga about Kelly being on a show that's basically all about making fun of other people which is pretty terrible considering what Kelly went thru when she was younger. But I definitely agree that what she had to say could have been said in private instead of making it public and trying to get everyone to think she's such a wonderful person. So i'd probably say that i'm more on Sharon's side with that one!

No, I don't and that's why I said that abattoirs are not great places either.

But they are not skinned alive.

You can't save every animal in the world, and I guess people pick and choose because some things are worse than others. No, you don't NEED meat to survive but do you think you're going to change the world to stop eating steaks and bacon? Not going to happen.

Fur (and the cruelty that goes with it) is just fashion, and totally unnecessary. So is clubbing baby seals, and harpooning whales, and killing tigers or elephants or sharks to cut a small part off them. So many reasons why people get up in arms about these causes.

Fur is just unecessary in our modern world, we have heating, transport, and plenty of other options.
No problem with eskimos and frozen & hunting nomads people utilising fur - and they don't mass produce.

But see I think Ga Ga wins this one becasue Kelly had to get a note from Mummy, aww diddums, and really she is a waste of space, just another rich bitch hollywood kid good at nothing. And I can't stand Sharon. Not overly fond of Gag's music but she seems OK in interviews.

Ooooooooooo, look who is coming to melbourne

I have never liked the Osbornes, they certainly come across to me as bogans that have too much money. Where is their talent? Not that having talent means you know everything, but you are certainly not riding the coat tails of someone else.

Roberto Cavalli for Target

I like the black dress in the middle. Not really a fan of animal print though so the rest does nothing for me. But it looks ok, better than some of the other designer collections they've had!

All reduced to half price now.

I got a whole lot for Christmas:)

White pants; tux jacket & pants, and that flowery/leopard dress 2nd from left.
I think it all looks nicer on normal humans - ie, the dress just skims my knee unlike those amazons. the trousers are to die for/cut suits me. And I love the jacket.

It all feels so nice, soft linings, nice fabrics.
I have never worn an animal print before, don't like prints much at all. Tried this stuff on and fell in love with it - encouraged by my sister who tends to live vicariously.
I feel so different in these clothes, like a Beatles fan going over to the darkside with the Stones. makes me feel like wearing bling/gold/big hair:)And being naughty:)

Oh lovely! I didn't realise it had been out for so long. There doesn't seem to be any in my local Target :(

You can shop it online. lots that were sold out are back in stock. I'm tempted to get a 2nd pair of the white trousers at that cheap price, fantastic - oh my size has gone.
The leopard wrap dress sold out before I ever saw it, apparently it's awesome on.

Where are you Shell?
For I was at chadstone yesterday and they have been sent all the overcoats and bits not selling. Bigger stores have it, i think the bogan stores sent it all back unsold.
If you need to know about fit - trousers are generous cut, especially around hips/designed for a slouchy look.
I think the top fittings run smallish/bottom part largish.
Shoes are a perfect fit to size for me, not great shoes.

I'm in Canberra, our city store might have had some.... it's ok, I can't afford it anyway haha, just interested to check it out!
