Bullying

Does every individual personality really need to be turned into a fucking Dr Phil show?

Yep

I know Estelle will be a guest on his show.

Estelle: People call me crazy, just cause I gallop on a toy horse.

Dr Phil: Little lady, you are crazier than a cut snake.

Sweet Jesus!

Well that's why we're here in this thread, isn't it? To discuss and learn. Or do you feel uncomfortable when confronted with the reality of what an arsehole Ben really is?

I think it is important to remember that when people are annoying pains in the arse, it is human nature to want to distance yourself from them and be a bit nasty.

I swear some of you live in the land of fluff and bubbles.

believe me when I say I don't. More like boulders and snow and stuff. :)

Absolutely not.

I like Ben, however not to the point I can't clearly see he is flawed, like all of us.

I just get bored with the fact we have to justify our personality. Between you and I, sometimes I can be a self righteous over opinionated pain in the arse, it frustrates me that the armchair psychologist in this forum need to find a justification for that ie I am a bully, I have Daddy issues, I have typers tourettes and so on.

I can see where you are coming from. Saying they are showing some signs and symtons of something, is very different to saying they are something.

OK, just saying, he has issues - by way of introduction to my main point, which was calling out his behaviour for what it is. Not that I am above that kind of behaviour myself at times, but then I'm not without issues either! Cause and effect. Helps to understand things.

He's probably mislaid his hairspray again or some such trauma. First world problems, lol.

I think some people are missing the point (on both sides). Everyone who has been victimized is not a victim. Some choose to rise above it. Estelle has done that. She hasn't accepted the label of "bullied victim". She hasn't sunk to their level and retaliated. She's just risen above it and carried on with her time in the house, letting karma take care of the rest.

That is a nice post, Robbie. But I do wish other people supporting Estelle would bear in mind the words 'What Would Estelle Do?'

The ugly behaviour, the murderous rage, and the petty character assassination of other housemate's supporters in her name...Oh hang on, same deal with Christianity.

Thank you Melore. Honestly, Estelle would have slipped under my radar if it weren't for her positive reactions to some really negative situations. It's something to be admired. You are right of course, I'm sure she'd be appalled that some of her fans act with such feral intent. I don't think that's what she's about. It's certainly not what she herself does.

Having said all that, I've actually enjoyed watching the others trying to alter their behavior toward her once she survived eviction after eviction, guessing correctly that it was THEIR behavior giving Estelle all the votes more than Estelle herself doing anything spectacular. It's rather entertaining, particularly when they can't uphold the facade of friendliness they create.

As for "same deal with Christianity", I would say it's the same with any religion or belief system. Strong beliefs tend to bring out the worst in people. They feel they are "in the right" and therefore they must convince others of how right they are at any cost. For the other persons own good of course.....

Perhaps...I work with a bunch of people who I cannot stand but I am not nasty to them nor do I exclude them. I tolerate them as they tolerate me.
