Estelle and Michael kissed last night! Eww or Yew?

Urgh. If that's Michael's idea at strategy, he's left it way too late to do himself any good. Ultimately, there's only one winner anyway, so kissing up to a potential contender isn't quite the same as being one yourself. I can't believe Estelle is gullible enough to be buying this act - or that she's simply glad of the male attention, since she's never shown any interest in him until there were no other eligible guys left. And she can't possibly think it's good strategy, since she's obviously doing okay without Michael.

Zoe being pissed off by this probably has more to do with her general resentment of Estelle than any genuine jealousy about Michael.

I don't think I want any of them to win! Layla is probably bottom of my list, but the rest of them haven't been behaving very well recently either.

The entire package by BB on secrets was setting Estelle up for this. She came away thinking she was really liked, that Michael really liked her. That the bitching was all because they saw her as a strong contender. Instead of absolutely hating her.

I think it shows she's not playing, it definately shows Michael is.

There's been so much talk about how Layla will win because of the romance. Michael has said Estelle won't win if everyone is nice to her and likes her. So he's trying to lessen her support by being super nice to her. Then to get a boost himself from the Romance angle.

I used to be a Michael fan, and while I'd be okay with him winning, I no longer desire for him to win. I am not an Estelle fan either, so it's not that I'm concerned that 'poor Estelle will be taken advantage by strategic Michael'.

I think Michael is really starting to fight dirty now. And in addition to that, he must truly think he's so much more intelligent than the audience because he seems to think that everyone watching will lap up his sudden about-face with Estelle, as though it's written in scripture. I think he's revealing himself as the arrogant manipulator that he really is. So impressed is he with his own strategy and thought processes he has never been able to stop talking about it. And he still seems to think he's pulling the wool over the eyes of the audience.

I know it's a game and all, but I don't know if I could be that calculating and shit all over someone like that for $250,000.

It's all very contrived & cynical & just makes me miss past seasons even more. I know they're all accountable for everything they say when they get out of the house & their fellow housemates see the footage, but I think the secrets revealed thing has made them even more manipulative & guarded than ever, which is not actually something viewers want to see. Ultimately, genuine warmth & personality is what the public votes for - & there's none of it in the house this season. Not even from Estelle. This is not going to bode well if BB returns next year. The new housemates are going to be even more boring & guarded if they're concerned their noms aren't confidential.

I do think Michael's correct in assuming everyone loves an underdog & have embraced Estelle as a victim. But how genuine is she? She's constantly told everyone what a victim she is, how genuine she is, & despite showing real kindness in some instances, has also put aside her loyalties to get herself the male attention she craves, & deliberately goaded people when they obviously needed their space & were at snapping point. I also think she does play up to the cameras, & has a really annoying holier-than-thou attitude about her no bitching policy, healthy eating, etc. No one likes a sanctimonious bore.

Despite saying that, I'd rather see Estelle win than Michael or Layla. Layla's an even worse culprit for telling us what kind of person she is instead of just demonstrating it in her actions. All that BS about how kind & generous she is to her friends when she's shown basically no concern or affection for anyone in the house - quite the opposite. Sam's grown on me a bit for taking all the revealed secrets in such a good-natured way & not holding anything against anyone. Although that is probably part of his strategy too - & what's with pressuring Layla into committing to a proper relationship when they get out? Seems he wants us to think he's a genuine guy, not a player.

This is an ultimate test of how keen at observing the viewers are.

Will they go, "fiflthy Estelle." Or will they see how it was all set up after the secrets where the footage made her feel so positive towards Michael. Which he then jumped on and lied about. Just the night before he was bitching about how she might win. All of a sudden it's, "I've loved you all a long." BB gave the narrative they just though Estelle was a strong threat not that they absolutely hated her.

I dont know about all this anymore. I mean, would you really hook up with someone in the house because you thought it would improve your chances of winning! Are you really going to stick your tongue down someones throat that you hate just beacuase of that reason? I think Michael wanted a piece all along but he's embarassed to admit it to anyone becasue of how much he's slagged her off in the past and the other HM's opinions of her

I completely agree with you, chumly.

It's commendable that Estelle hasn't let their dislike of her get to her, but at the same time, there is something to be said about a person who can deconstruct their own behaviour in the face of criticism. She knows the sorts of things they find annoying but all she has said is "I'm just being myself, I'm just weird, they are all mean" etc, which after a while comes across as a little arrogant and myopic. In almost any social situation a well-adjusted person would tone it down around certain people if they knew their behaviour really annoyed them, yet she has seemed unable to do that. You can still 'be yourself' while respecting other people's boundaries and don't continue to frequently do things that you know really annoy them. I actually do wonder what Estelle would be like on the outside, because she comes across to me at least a little bit maladjusted.

That said, I'd be okay with any of them winning so long as it wasn't Sam.

I ask myself that too, but I am not the kind of person who would go on Big Brother, so I think that myself and any BB housemates, past and present, are wired differently.

Then again, is it any different, psychologically, to a guy or girl going out and picking up, having a one night stand with no intention of ever speaking to them again, because they aren't their type? People do that pretty often I guess.. are able to separate varying degrees of physical and mental attraction. They'd do it because they are horny/want an ego boost/lonely/bored/want to impress their mates or whatever reason.... for some people the lure of $250,000 would be justifiable? I don't know.

Oh for goodness sake what nonsense. I am not a hater but really Estelle fans are getting ridiculous, reading something from nothing AFTER the fact.

That is so sad. I had hope before but you are right, Michael will win, and by stepping on Estelle. Just horrible :(

I have just read the Updates. Zoe is behaving stupidly.
She is angry with Estelle.
Michael made it clear over and over again to her that he was not interested.
Now Ben, Layla and Zoe are blaming Estelle. It is all her fault. What logic is that?
=================================================================

Zoe can’t believe Estelle spent the night in Michael’s bed. “He doesn’t want any connection with girls in here,” she tells Benjamin and Layla it’s not a case of jealousy.

Benjamin says after 80 days in the House, “His (Michael) mind’s gone crazy.”

Benjamin does point out most guys would not ‘be the way Michael is’. “He doesn’t make bad mistakes,” he points out. “He doesn’t lead anyone on, he doesn’t kiss anyone accidentally, very much in control.”

“That has, for me, put the cherry on top of the cake. Makes me think about what kind of person she actually is,” Zoe says of Estelle.

“She’s very young,” muses Benjamin. Layla points out she’s the same age as Estelle. “She’s starved for male attention,” Benjamin thinks with him being gay and Sam being taken – Estelle simply had to turn to Michael.

Couldn't agree with you more! I've just about had it with the girls attitudes in that house; I would have expected more from Layla. Typical.

ben dropped the subtle hint michael is the master mind behind this, girls are just too thick to understand.

I wouldn't have expected more from Layla. She struggles with her own opinions and feeling so much, she just finds it easier to follow the lead of others, except for her moments of realisation that shes not 'being herself' which are few & far between.

Zoe is really one jealous poisonous bitch, she just doesn't get it. Michael is not attracted to her and would run a mile just to get away from her if he could. This bullshit about some code that Estelle suppose to avoid any sort of contact with Michael is really getting old. That might happen with friends but what kind of friend has Zoe been to Estelle?

Same here, but Zoe, I want her gone so much. And like Ben said Michael doesn't make mistake. Of course we all know Michael is taking advantage of Estelle’s naivety, to get him to the end? He plays her well and most of the public too. I have no doubt he will win

Spot on. Shades of Ben too. People who constantly compliment themselves and attempt to rewrite history. Just because you positively affirm yourself every minute does not make it true.

Michael made it so clear, even the night of the secrets Michael said it. Who does she think she is? Michael doesn't want her and like you said, what kind of friend was she to Estelle? She pushed the knifes deeper in Estelle's back. This is the first time in this BB that I am so angry, lol. I am so sick of the blame put on Estelle, when she has never said a bad word about anyone else.

i wonder how ryan is taking it!!

Do you think we'll see on-screen tweets?

Didn't Zoe have a big crush on George for a while? What happened to that? I don't see Layla being crucified for using him & then moving onto Sam without a thought as to how Zoe might feel about it. I just think that its a huge double standard - don't treat Estelle like & shit and then expect things from her.

Layla handled that quite sensitively though, asking Zoe first how she felt about it. Not that Zoe had any claim on George (or Michael), but Layla came across well at the time, making it obvious she didn't want to hurt anyone.

I think Zoe's the one who will come across the worst out of this, she's coming across as jealous and possessive when Michael has made it clear he's not interested in her. Add in that she's never had a boyfriend and people could see her as a little stunted emotionally. Not sure how it will affect Michael and Estelle. Both could be seen as playing the game, or people might only see Michael as playing the game and Estelle as being used. But Michael's fans might like his game playing, seeing as he's been doing it the whole way through, plus he could get sympathy for being the unwilling recipient of Zoe's affections. Estelle could get sympathy if she's seen as an innocent pawn in Michael's game, or she could get attacked in the same way she was at the start of the season by the people who were using "slut" as their preferred insult. Whether it benefits Layla, Sam and Ben will depend on how sympathetic they are to each side without attacking the other.
