Any positive Michael thoughts?

I must have missed something - I thought Indego was replying to you "what does it say about Australians? That we prefer people to not be too clever?", saying yes, it's a given we Australians prefer people not to be too clever. I think there's some truth in that.

Also I agree that intelligence is sexy. I've always found Michael to be the sexiest male hm and that's why. I have no issue with him saying that his secret is that he has a high IQ either. BB clearly wanted secrets and that one helped get him on the show. He explained his understanding that an IQ score has only limited relevance.

I think the trouble is that more and more he's saying he's "better" than other hms. If there is one thing that will turn people off him faster than anything else, I reckon it's that.

I do think that Michael is naturally witty. I also think he wants to be known as the one who knows the most in a kind of ego way, but is aware that sometimes you don't know everything when people think you should. I also believe he really has issues about being seen as a brainy geek, so pushes the OTT, fun guy side of him, which sometimes I'm not convinced about.

I most probably would be fine with him if he wasn't doing the superior and better thing that the Ben crowd seem to be doing. Plus I thought he was a bit pathetic talking to Ben, like he felt he had to defend himself for not hating Angie, when really he should've just told Ben to get over it he didn't feel the same. Also the whole Ben doing the disapproving as he felt Michael let them all down being smug about winning. We know that was exactly what Michael was doing, but he blatantly lied saying he wasn't. I expected him not to be so weak against Ben. So he seems to have this whole game plan going on, but trembles under the scrutiny of Ben. What's that all about?

I think with his natural humour, if he'd cut out the lot I mentioned above, I'd be fine with him. But he didn't, so not so keen!

Why doesn't he? Layla the beautician could make him look a lot better. A few decent clothes & he would be a different man.

But he doesn't because he is a dirty grub.
 
I adore Micheal! But I like brainy, geeky types, married one and have two brainy daughters, and I think Ben is bad for Micheal and should go home to save Micheal from bad influences!

Not compared to some of the man-child dicks that I've known. It DOES get greasy, but then he washes it.
I’ve known SO many men who can’t grasp the concept that hair needs to be washed that having a day or two to long between washes doesn’t count as yuck.

There is a difference for me when I'm at the gym & sometimes wash hair with soap verses a good shampoo like TRESemmé.

There's Layla (in her goddam curlers) who would give advice but he doesn't care about appearance.

Michael is YUK.
 
Here are my thoughts on Michael; both positive and negative.

Michael is a fantastic housemate. There's no doubt about it. You either love him or love to hate him and the show would be nearly as interesting without him. I like how at this late stage of the game, the save vote has given us an interesting house dynamic. In the past, contentious housemates like Michael, Benjamin, Angie and Estelle would all have been targets of the evict vote. In previous years, this stage of the game usually left us with a bunch of bores in the house.

In some respects he reminds me of myself, and I don't know what to think of that.

I really liked him at the start, and I still do see many things I like about him, but with that said, it's become increasingly difficult to overlook some of his nastier personality traits, but I think that even this makes him an interesting housemate.

He's not somebody I think would be the most deserving winner, nor somebody I'd really want to see win, but a part of me would still admire him for going in with a pretty clear game plan from the start and actually administering it successfully if he were to win.
 
I think he is awesome... Everyone knows they are there to play a game, he's playing a role that suits him. He's funny and for some reason a bit sexy...
 
analytical and stupid is not a good combo his life experience cannot match his (supposed) intellect

Oh, I get it... fair enough.

Yeah the "we're better people" is kind of weird. Ben says that too.
 
Aside from Angie, I don't see how they can consider themselves better people than Estelle, Sam and Layla. Those 3 have been fairly honest, helpful, thoughtful... so why are they less?

Ten odd years ago I was quite heavily involved in the local theatre scene (as a writer, screw being seen by people) and I studied writing for 5 years. It’s a different world. Not a very sane world, but the conversations are far more interesting.
