Estelle's "hard life"

No of course we don't know for sure Maddy, this whole site i based on speculation really isn't it. However her life story doesn't add up. Indeed many things point to the speculation that she is just young and immature and doesn't know what real poverty is like. Again just my humble opinion. However I live in Woolloomooloo where REAL poverty exists and I'd be surprised if she's seen anything like this!!

Then maybe she has family that is well off or came into an inheritance. Fact is we don't know. She may well be full of crap but just because someone is in a good place now doesn't mean their early years were a picnic. George also said his early life was very hard, yet now he's worth millions (on paper at least).

Do we know where the properties are? Unless they're right in the middle of a city, there are a lot of place a house and land can be picked up extremely cheap. How old is the Range Rover or what ever it is that she owns. You know you can pick up a second hand Jag for under $20k. Without details we really can't jump to conclusions.

A hard life doesn't always equate to poverty.

No it doesn't.

However I'd like to know how she's managed to buy two properties at her age when she was a highschool drop out. If she worked it would have been minimum wage jobs. You've got to be able to have savings and a decent income to buy a house, she wouldn't have had that.

There could be a plethora of reasons, she could have won money, inherited money, been given the properties, hell she could have lied and has diddly squat.

Does she personally own those properties though?

We just don't know. My mate inherited a house from a family member at a young age.

I hate to repeat myself but...since when does owning two properties (with her mother) and a 1997 Range Rover make you rich, when the two properties are in rural parts of Vic (morwell)? Just because you dropout of school and are studying doesnt mean you cant earn a decent amount of money, She works full time for a Government agency and is studying via correspondence. When Estelle worked overseas with horses, she had to save for her flight, she slept above a horse stable, cleaned out stables and rode 8 horses a day to earn her breakfast, lunch and dinner. She didn't get paid for it and it wasn't a holiday, she did it for the experience. Also a lot of the horses she has had she started from nothing or they have been lease horses. None of you have any idea what her life was like growing up. You don't have to be poor to have a hard life. There are so many terrible things that can happen to families and people E.g. drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence, abuse etc etc. If this was the case would you want to have in depth conversations of the such on national tv with people you don't know???

Estelle's had to go through her whole life dealing with people who don't get how much of a special little princess she is. It's a hard life. She does her best to explain to people that her biggest faults are that she pushes herself too much, won't stand for discussions about racism except on her terms and tries too hard to impress people how good she is, but nobody gets it.

Despite Estelle's best efforts to mark herself out as special, unique, different and better, people keep putting her in the weird corner. It's a hard life. She's tried to make herself the centre of attention with pony club gangsta rap. She's tried to impress people by adopting a personality pretence for every occasion. She's even tried creating a signature lavender look replete with kitten sound effects. Nothing works.

Poor put upon Estelle. Such a victim. Of herself.

It's a hard life.

*snorts*

I agree with most of what you said but what most people who really have had a hard life don't talk about it at all. Estelle seems to mention it quite a bit.

I'll consider it a hard life if she grew up like any of the children on Four Corners the other day.

Don't people get it. Once you have a hard life, you will always have a hard life. Only people who always have a good life can have a good life.
Romney 2012!

While its hard to wade through the stench of obvious wry sarcasm wafting from your post I have to admit this.. hearing Estelles answer to as to what each housemates secret addiction is (not 'what their biggest faults are' BTW) as "im addicted to pushing myself too much" did make me cringe.

At the end of the day nobody really knows what has supposedly made her life so hard because they haven't shown any footage of her saying it.. so I cant really say what she or the housemates are referring to and hence cant formulate a valid viewpoint

Why is Stella always the easy target? She is such a beautiful gal (inside and out)! I have said it before and I will keep saying it... She has done nothing, whatsoever, to deserve the shit that has been thrown at her week after week. It baffles me!

Because when some people watch the show they imagine themselves being in there, friends with the cool kids and so side and defend them. They can't take an objective approach. Because some people on hear like Stella, they feel they have to hold up the nasty side of the mean crew and then take it to another level. For them, as they see the house through the prism of certain house mates. They fail to understand how anyone can see things differently. So with that disconnect they feel entitled to just make up any old shit disconnected to the reality of the show, the house mates or what they've seen.

I heard she works/worked at a Centrelink call centre, that would be doing it tough :) anyone know if thats true?

I just have to LOL at this thread, my mate has a range drover (older one) and sometimes I have to shout him lunch because he's got no dough.
Washes his hair with soap (LOL) and doesn't have much money at all....are people thick? Cars depreciate.

And hang on, George was called 'not a proper' billionaire on this forum because he owned properties....so with one housemate it's proof she's rich and with another it's proof he isn't?
Can't have it both ways.

Cheers viennamoo, great post, especially the bits about the O/S work experience.

Also, please forgive my less than kind posts re: Stell-aah (IE "liver spots" (which I know darn well aren't), etc ... ) / replies to you made earlier this season.

You can pick up a 2nd hand jag for under 20k she says! I have to laugh Maddy, that shows how much you know about poverty. There are entire families who live on 20k a year. A single person living on the dole lives on 10k a year (and that hasn't risen in ten years whilst prices of food, petrol, electricity and rent have fucking gone through the roof in the last 10 years). Honestly, what planet do you come from? I tried to play nice with you but you have absolutely no understanding of the big wide world that you live in. It makes me sick to think about people like you.

Thank you for saying what I have been thinking all along.
