Anyone watch Buffy's new show Ringer?
It was OK, fine mindless sunday night viewing - she's never been much of an actress, but at least it's not another crime or hospital show.

You mean Sarah Michelle Gellar? No I passed on it The ads looked kind of ordinary, and she has a gun so she shoots people. So in some way the cops might want her.. :)

And as for Terra Nova after last night I'm giving it the flick... Crap on a stick.

I'm an insomniac, one of the reasons I'm a TV addict.
Anyway, last night, early am I found a weird little show, called Miss Personality, has anyone seen this?

10 New Zealand women are flown to a luxury hotel in Australia for a beauty contest - or so they believe. Instead they find themselves dumped in the middle of the Australian outback, where they are greeted by Vadim "Outback Jack" Dale. To their horror he tells them that they will each be spending the next nine weeks lodging with a family in the small and remote town of Burra, South Australia (population 1'000). Once there, they must compete in a series of challenges for the title of "Miss Popularity". Each week some of the girls are to be nominated for a public vote before the entire community where they must plead for the townspeople's vote. The losers will find them selves sent home, eventually leaving one of them to be crowned the winner. Written by David R Boland

They all look like the girls from Geeks, and they have to become part of a small country town & the town judges them. It looks like fun:)

I saw a bit of ACA tonight for the first time in a long while, and Tracy Grimshaw no longer looks anything like Tracy Grimshaw.

Burra is not remote. It's only about 150km (or less) from Adelaide and about 20km from the Clare Valley Wine region. And it's most certainly not in the middle of the Australian Outback. You'd have to go 200km north to get to Pt Augusta which is generally considered to be the very edge of the SA outback. Burra is just a nice little historic country town, amongst a ton of other nice little country towns. No way, no how is it outback. I think they got a bit carried away with their description of it.

I saw that in the tv guide and taped it - haven't watched it yet. Sounds promising in a OMGWTF kind of way. Did you watch it?

I only caught the last 10-15mins, and that was hysterical, bunch of skanks lined up and they voted somebody out - to be told, nah..............a town is going to decide your fate and your going to have to win them over, tee hee.....
Then they showed some future bits with the whole town. Looks like it could be a hoot.
It's on GO, about 1.30am. Maybe on tonight, guide searches show it screening Sunday & Mondays.

Anyone else addicted to Graham Norton, watching all the repeats & I was laughing so hard, there was a fat guy in the red chair.......and......he pulled the lever.......and.........nothing happened (sorry if anyone is sensitive but it was funny as)

Further It's A Knockout update. It will air on Channrl 10 over Summer, and will be hosted not only by Charli Robinson, but also Brad McEwan and... OMG!... HG Nelson! :D

Oooo I saw that, now I'm hoping that 10 are up to something with Roy & HG as well, they could give them something to boost their programming.

Maybe a show like The Dream, to poach some viewers away from actually watching the London Olymics on 9?

So, is anyone, Allican....anyone....watching Miss Personality?
Watch it peeps, it's awesome, they actually torture these skanks.....well close enough
And it's followed by some more good trash tv, Rock Rivals - tee hee, this is classic cheese tv, it's a dramatised x-factor brit soap thing, fabulously trashy.

Isn't there a show in the UK called "Hotter Than My Daughter?" I seem to remember seeing a trailer about it.

Ah found it

Urgh!
TV's kiss of death, Kyle and Jackie O, are getting a one off chat show on 7 called A Night With The Stars (basically a Rove LA/Hamish & Andy's Gap Year rip off, without the jokes), which will air over the summer. Apparently, if it goes well, Kyle might get his own talk show. So for those of you with a ratings meyter in your home, PLEASE, don't watch it.

Oh dear god.

As a judge, I like him. As a human being I cant stand him. I think I am having a brain aneurism from the stupidity of this show.

Rumour is the only reason 7 are giving this a go is because Kyle is mid-negotiation with his AGT contract, and so they're pandering to him to keep him on the network.

In other TV news, there's a buzz that Kerri-Anne Kennerley is about to announce her retirement (because her ratings are down and 9 are wanting her to 'share' her show with a co-host - allegedly Bert Newton - and KAK is pissed as hell andf doesn't want a bar of it).

6.30pm with George Negus has just been axed;
The 7pm Project will now go for 1 hour (and just called The Project) and shifts into 6.30pm timeslot.

In the absence of an X Factor thread... Can I just say how ANNOYED I am that Young Men Society went home? You're going to end up with a bunch of amateur crap Australia, and it's your own fault.

I concur. There is nobody I actually care about amonst the remaining rabble. Well, okay, Andrew is a terrific singer, but he's never going to shift post-X Factor units, is he?

And just on the absence of an X factor sub-section, should we just put the performance show/reselts show threads in here, and then if/when the sub section is reinstated they can just be moved into it?

BTW, how HILARIOUS was Altiyan's dancing? :D

So I have a random TV question that's been bugging me for a couple of days.

I can't remember when it was (but pretty certain it was a channel 9 show), possibly might have been off the back of the popularity of Changing Rooms or The Block, but does anyone remember a reality renovation show where two (or maybe three) sets of competing couples were given identical houses to renovate in the same street. Then I think the public phone voted for their favourite and the couple who dolled up the winning house got to keep it. Can't remember who hosted it. I think it was a male host though, so maybe Don Burke, Jamie Durie or Peter Everett?

Anyone remember it?
