What's wrong with having old threats? That's what old Who had all the time. As for Pond's outfits - they aren't immodest. But I do think the impending marriage / child storylines for Pond do show promise.

I don't mind old threats either but 3rd episode in and we get Daleks come on....... And not just that coloured Emo Daleks.......
Oh well . And that crack in the wall every single episode....... It's like the lazy writers version of "bad wolf"

What !!! No purple Dalek ???
So what do my fellow Who watchers think of the new look Daleks ???
My only criticism is that the sink plungers were not replaced with a multi function claw, or another ray-gun.
This was a good opportunity to ditch the plunger for good!
The colours are bright, but acceptable... at least they did not make a pink Dalek... wait for the toy range to hit the shops.

I don't mind Dr Who having old foes come back every now & then. I recon it makes it a bit more believable.

The new darleks is they look crappier. Darleks are an odd designed thing. So they want to make them bigger... fine.. but it looks like in doing so they removed detail which I think is the biggest issue. Maybe being brand spanking new have them clean, but I liked the older look of the previous ones. Also details like where it comes to the front panel with the plunger and the ray gun, it's just boring and cimple and well.. cheap looking. Some detailing here would have done a lot.
That's sort of my problem. Looks like it all came out of a vacuum mould of plastic, and was made cheaply.
I am pretty sure i could have re-designed the darleks much cooler. Just scale up the old ones, make some tweaks, add more detail and functionality. You could do all that with out looking like you're simplifying them.

You don't post on Whirlpool a lot do you someone there spells it that way too.I didn't like the new Daleks either. They looked like I said the new "emo dalek" with colours and could see them do a Power Rangers and all join together to form Mega Dalek haha.... Or maybe Voltron...
What was the black strips down the side of the bottom part of the Dalek? looked like some wacky bit of moulding...... But they are big.. As Karen said in the confidential they were taller then her.. But on the whole I thought they looked crap.
