Spec is there a list for Australia?? The US list does me no good...except makes a tad bit jealous.

Not that I know of, sorry.

The networks here are too secretive to release this info so far in advance.:(

Monday, Sept. 21
How I Met Your Mother, 8 p.m. (CBS)

Then why are Channel 7 promoting it as the new series starts this week? It obviously doesn't!

Try posting this in the "TV not airing in Australia thread" ;)

Hi guys - I haven't been around here so much over the past 6mths, a bit more lately, lots of personal and work pressures and a bit of a new addiction - fanfic.com. And I have a nice new laptop I can play with in bed:)

Anway, I gave up posting ratings and stuff, and chatting because I can rarely find anything to watch on TV anymore.
I never get home in time for Neighbours so I know nothing about that anymore.
I guess my favourite show is Flight of the Conchords.

Even when there are the odd good shows I tend to miss it - so I mostly watch stuff on dvd, just bought Being Human to watch and I'm watching True Blood 1st season.
I'm going to the movies more now - at least once a week/fortnight.

TV sucks for me right now. I do watch Earl and Family guy re-runs, GNW, Conchords and that's about it.

I can't believe Channel Ten made their own version of 20 to 1.

20 to 1 would have to be the worst show on tv. Ever.
And now we have 2 of them.

ON THE SAME NIGHT AND AT THE SAME TIME?

FFS.

EDIT: OMGWTF at Bert's toupee.

I know emcee, I don't understand it either. Even Magda couldn't get me to watch that rubbish

All Saints was ridiculous tonight. Funniest moment - they need to revive a woman with a heart problem, so they rip her shirt open - to reveal not breasts, but a (vaguely) breast-shaped body stocking. Handy that she was wearing that today huh?

I'm not a fan of those list shows either. I accidentally watched about 10 minutes of Magda's before switching over to a Seinfeld rerun - the frilly shirt one that I've seen about a hundred times. Still beats a bunch of wankers talking about a list.

kxk, if you run out of stuff to watch on dvd get 'In Treatment' - I'm just finishing series one and have been riveted to the screen. It's exceptional.

I watched Animal Battlegrounds on Animal Planet tonight.
Bit disillusioned with chimpanzees right now.
Guess what they do?
They send one up into the trees to scare the bonobo (?) monkeys, & the others wait in ambush on the ground at strategic points in the forest. The tree-swinging chimp chases the monkeys until one or more fall to the ground, then the chimps tear it apart & eat it.
I know it's nature, but I didn't think they'd eat other primates.

At least the iguanas won their segment.
The big iguanas spend a carefree life at the tops of trees.
They lay their eggs in the stream, & the baby iguanas scramble up the trees to safety & if an eagle swoops on them, the mummy iguana gives a signal & they all jump into the stream, where they can hold their breath for 40 minutes until the eagle has gone.

During Sunday Night, I was interested to note bare breasted pigmy women get about without any kind of censorship. Some of the females were even immature, which to some sick and paranoid minds might even constitute child porn.

I missed the start of the show to see if there was a warning about nudity, but I suspect there was not. It seemed that the viewing audience was afforded trust - that the naked breasts would not be viewed in a sexual way. This was how these people behaved without any shame at all, so it would have been a shocking insult to the audience if their bodies were censored as if they were shameful.

Yet during a show like Survivor, where breasts inadvertently pop out due to wardrobe malfunction or otherwise, there is strict censorship. The context of such exposure is not sexual, yet the home viewer is not given the benefit of the doubt. The censor thinks the worse, and therefore makes obscene that which is natural and innocent.

Just made me realise how perverted some minds are.

Chimps are capable of what we would consider evil. The young males form little gangs and prowl around the outskirts of their territory. If they find a lone chimp - maybe one expelled from another group, they will murder him. They mutilate his private parts, but leave the rest of his body intact.

But they also feel something close to reverence. Jane Goodall watched some chimps as they approached a waterfall. The chimps gazed upon the waterfall, with their hair erect and bristling, and swaying on their feet.

I find such behaviours a fascinating mirror into our own psyche.

Well the obvious difference is that oggling boobs in Survivor definitely IS for sexual entertainment.
A major part of the entertainment of the show is hot young bods, both male and female.
You honestly can't see this? Different intents, different audiences, different mindset when watching.

I am getting sick of TV networks thinking over hype=high ratings when to me its over hype= curiosity and No hype/word of mouth= quality
I am thinking of The Wire as an example because I am waiting for the next series. Plus I was surprised how it didn't catch my eye because ch9 dumped it in the cult slot (10:30-11:30pm mid week) The last thing they want is a show that requires you to watch the whole season for the big story arc.
I got series 1-4 when they were cheap at JB and loved them.
Can someone tell me why didn't ch9 see the quality and growing audience and cash in it by airing it on it's primary channel and not dump it in GO!

If anything, seeing uncensored boobs pop out during challenges decreases my lust. Makes me see the contestants as human, vulnerable, and not mere objects.

Maybe the blur is there to enhance the sexiness. To fuel the lusts of people who somehow can't access the unlimited porn on the Internet.
