Last movie you saw

Bkeela: Coraline 3-D. All kinds of amazing shininess. Is it too much to say that in 3-D, it simply and very very beautifully just 'pops'? It's almost as if you're in a puppet theatre with them. It was the first film my partner had seen with the Real-D 3-D tech and they said that they couldn't have imagined viewing Coraline any other way. Avatar and UP 3-D here I come!!

I actually felt that the 3D in Coraline was just pointless. A lot of the movie wasn't even rendered in 3D - I took off my glasses a couple of times and it was just the normal movie going on.

Is the JB online store the same price as instore...I just saw Seinfeld box set for $169.00 online....will it be this price instore??? At that price it's cheap! They are selling on ebay for over $180 and then postage on top

Terminator Salvation - oh it was a shame they concentrated more on the effects and action than the plot. I would have like to have had a more indepth unfolding of the story rather than feeling like "we need to get in there, rescue Kyle and then blown it Skynet up". And what was voice over at the end?, there is not going to be number 5 is there?, I mean I wanted a nice tidy ending and that's how they shoudl leave it. Didn't feel for one moment any sensitivity towards Markus and the woman nor Jon Connor and his wife....unfortunately this was a moview for the blokes. I did enjoy the action and effects, but didn't get a sense of drama etc. at all.

Oh and ladies, Sam Worthing is hot hot hot....I've liked him since he appeared in a modern day version of Macbeth years ago....didn't like the version, but I liked him!

The Day The Earth Stood Still: Both Versions

I just watched the Keanu Reeves version of The Day The Earth Stood Still and omg it sucked........ Great special effects do not make a good movie if you can't back that up with a solid story.

I watched the Original too and have to say that beyond a shadow of a doubt the origonal film stacks up way highter. The original has lasting repeat value.

Original 8/10
Remake 4/10

Thoughts?

From "Monty Python's: The Meaning Of Life"

The Penis Song

Isn't it awfully nice to have a penis?
Isn't it frightfully good to have a dong?
It's swell to have a stiffy.
It's divine to own a dick,
>From the tiniest little tadger
To the world's biggest prick.
So, three cheers for your Willy or John Thomas.
Hooray for your one-eyed trouser snake,
Your piece of pork, your wife's best friend,
Your Percy, or your cock.
You can wrap it up in ribbons.
You can slip it in your sock,
But don't take it out in public,
Or they will stick you in the dock,
And you won't come back.

It was terrible. I watched the original days before the remake, and agree it was better. It was still hokey in a 1950s paranoid America kind of way, but still entertaining.

I agree..... That is why the original is my favourite version. There is even a colourized version of this but I don't like that . It's blasphemy

<sarcasm>
I can't wait to see how they bastardize Forbidden Planet. That is going to be remade too.

Ah, great film. Remember Mr Creosote?

The Duchess

A mildly entertaining period drama. The extravagant setting interested me more than anything.

Inglorious Basterds

Utterly superb cinema. Delicious characters, satisfying pace, captivating soundtrack (as usual) and a diabolical climax.

I wish I hadn't seen the film reviewed on At the Movies, for then I would have been delightfully surprised at the direction the film took away from the Dirty Dozen style story I had been expecting.

Tarantino, like Hitchcock and Kubrick, certainly has an eye for stunning women. Diane Kruger and Mélanie Laurent were beautiful. Christoph Walz was indeed exceptional as the charming villain Col. Hans Landa.

The film left me feeling strangely disturbed though. I didn't enjoy the damnation of the Nazis. The Nazis don't seem really bad to me compared to our current overlords, who rule from the shadows, and are many times more monstrous than Hitler ever was.

I fell asleep during "The Duchess", and I almost never get to sleep on planes (particularly a four hour flight). :)

You wot? You taken leave of your senses, guv?

Better to have them standing in the shadows, as opposed to commandeering the gas utilities.
