Is anyone watching this? I LOVE this show, it is utterly addictive! Most of my mates are watching it and our boss downloads the latest episode each week and we pass it around the office.
 
yep. LOVE it also. Me and a couple of friends go round to a mates house and watch the ep every tuesday night (it airs monday Morning our time). Its great!

Easily defacating on any TV show released in the last decade. Goddamn the last episode "I got a right to sing the blues" was mindblowing television, every new episode seems to surpass the previous one which I didn't think was possible.

Apart from the over-the-top homo erotica (Alan Ball is a homosexual after all, the man can't help but lace his work with some of his own proclivities), every scene has me glued to the my tv screen. :)

We love it in our household, i download the episodes and wait until we have 4 then put them on a disk to play on the dvd..I can't stand having just one episode to watch so we suffer and wait lol..
 
I have a love/hate relationship with the show. I hated the Maryann storyline last year and loved the Godric storyline. Right now I'm loving the show. Franklin is a fantastic character. On a totally shallow note any show that gives me Eric and Alcide is got to be good.
 
Agree with all the posts, I am drooling over Eric and Alcide at the moment and beginning to dislike Bill. Have got Episode 6 to watch tonight so I am about a week behind the US
 
actually at the moment Sookie is really pissing me off. she should respect the vampires just a little bit more, or she will get herself killed.

I was lauging the whole way through the Break-up scene, it was awesome. the way sookie just replied "shut the **** up" was hilarious. all why a female friend behind me was sobbing quietly....

I also hate how she is always right in her 'speeches' to people, trying to teach them right from wrong and shit.
 
I can't figure out whether Anna Paquin is that bad an actress or Ball has specifically told her to ham her performance up.

I tend to lean towards the latter because of what I've seen of Paquin in some of her other work; she's been at least okay in those roles.

In any event Sookie comes across as a naive irritating 3 year old child in most situations she finds herself in. It's difficult to warm to and sympathize with such a stupid character, not many of the people I know who are into the show like her either.
 
yeah, she's been (as you put it) a "irratating 3 yr old" ever since she became Eric's lapdog with the Fellowship of the sun. ever since she realised that she had some 'worth' to her. something more than just a waitress....

but im hoping they revisit the Jason/Tara relationship. i loved that in season 1. sadly it got put to the background without much of an ending....
 
I actually yelled at the computer last night because I was that frustrated with Sookie. They have dumbed her down so much. Book Sookie would kick TV Sookie's butt. I'm getting to the stage that if the two leads left tomorrow I would watch the show more keenly because it would be a better show.
 
I love Jessica, she's so innocent but not, if you know what i mean lol.
Eric can bite me anytime he likes, yummo!
 
I'm so sick of the copious gratious amount of homo erotica on this show, enough already! My eyes, my eyes my beautiful eyes. I think I've been traumatized forever. :eek:

We get it, Alan Ball lurrrves the c0ck but 99% of the mainstream male population don't wanna see that. Keep it in your pants and in the privacy of your bedroom AB, that's what internet porn is there for dude. Have some professional integrity and don't force feed your agenda through your work please.
 
im guessing your talking about the new ep?
1. there are women who enjoy the show, hence the amount of screen time that half naked Bill/Eric/Alcide get...
2. we never see(unless it has changed) male genitalia, just breasts, so its not exactly gay porn is it?
3. this is the first gay sex scene in the show....

I wasn't equating the show to porn just that if Alan Ball needs to get his jollies off there's plenty of porn out there in the interwebs to satisfy those very personal needs. He shouldn't use his show and the actors he's hired as a vehicle to arouse himself! :eek: :D

Which is what I believe he's doing among other subtler agenda. :mad:

yes I think I can cope with naked Eric or Alcide (I will make that sacrifice)...Bill on the other hand usually means he is naked with Sookie and that just makes me nauseous.

I'm ok with any of those scenes as long as it is tune with the storyline. AB treads a fine line there and can go over that line at times but I think this scene was building for a few episodes.
 
yeah, i watched it tonight, and it wasnt as bad as assumed it would be- i figured there would be some....thrusting involved; but the worst it got was essentially gays kissing. actually i think AB has gotten soft this season, i think that( sookie/bill) was the the first real 'romp' of the season. the rest has all been alluded to, but not seen....

Soft!? Are you kidding me? lol

Obviously we have very different standards/definitions of what getting soft means.

I'm started to suspect you might be that way inclined (not that there's anything wrong with that), 'cos it's only gays who've actually have the audacity to say that about the portrayal of homosexual male relationships in True Blood.

And let's face it no amount of gay portrayal in mainstream tv will ever satisfy some members of that community :p

And it was that 'romp' that made me want to throw up. I'll take all the gay sex scenes AB can throw at me if it means that he doesn't have those two on the screen. Acting wise AP & SM seem to suck the talent right out of each other when they are together.

This is very much a show I either love or hate and there is nothing in between. I now keep going back to the underrated Vampire Diaries. This show in its first season hit its mark 99 out of 100 times and the pacing was fantastic. They also know how to write a triangle without the preference of the head writer showing through.

no, not gay. if anything i actually prefer my tv to stay hetro...

and im just saying that this season, they seem to 'cut' the sex out of the episodes, since we know that it happens, we dont need to see it happen.
