Australian Survivor: Perth grandmother among WA contestants
LUKE DENNEHY, PerthNow
August 14, 2016 2:00am
A PERTH grandmother and a former WA Cricket Association manager are joining brave accident victim Kate Campbell on new reality show Australian Survivor.
At 57, former WA customs officer and grandmother-of-17 Sue Clarke, left, is the oldest woman on the much-hyped Channel 10 show, which premieres next Sunday.
Clarke, who worked all over Australia as a customs officer for 29 years before becoming a personal trainer, will be battling it out on the island of Samoa alongside Katherine Dumont, 26, right, who quit her job as WACA partnerships and brand manager to join the show, and boat accident survivor Campbell.
“I had no idea that someone who is nearly 60 would be picked,” Clarke said.
“This is a dream come true and it really does show you should stop at nothing. Anything is possible.”
Sue Clarke
Katherine Dumont
Dumont quit her job with the WACA to risk everything on the Australian version of the long-running US reality show.
“I have a great career and an investment property, everything,” she said.
“(But) I think I was missing opportunities because I was following this script.
‘I thought, why not give this a shot?
“For the first time in my life I’m going to be unemployed and I’m going to have no money, but I’m excited about that,” she said.
Last month Confidential revealed Campbell, who survived a high-profile boating accident near Canning Bridge in 2007 and later won $250,000 in compensation, would be on the show.
has already been announced in the cast.
Host Jonathan LaPaglia says he believes producers have got the casting right, with lots of big characters.
He predicted that Clarke and Dumont would pose a real threat.
“We had some really interesting players,’ he said.
“What I loved about the casting is that a bunch of them didn’t know much about the show, and a couple of them really hadn’t seen the show at all,” he says.
“That was kind of fascinating to watch that unfold.”
— Australian Survivor will premiere on Ten next Sunday at 7.30pm.

@reepbot, instead of constantly spamming these threads with mere links that could all be dead in a few months anyway, at least make posts with actual substance and quote the articles direct too. Like all the other Article threads on this forum.
Especially when you're doing nothing but double/triple/quadruple posting without generating any actual discussion.

they're on tenplaySo no exit interviews? Nothing?
If you get a VPN it works quite well. I use NordVPN. And you can watch the shows live too.I can't access ten play as I don't live in Australia.

I think Opera browser has a free VPN built-in. No idea how good it is but for free it might be worth checking out?

Flick's boyfriend's brother was on US Survivor.
"Benry", he was a bit of a jerk as far as I recall.
