There isn't

You never actually break an addiction until you take that addiction to the grave

Every day is a new challenge

Alcoholics count the days ( 20 years on) since last drink

Gamblers the same

Drug addicts, even more so

They never fool themselves into believing they have kicked the habit

That is fool's gold

They call themselves an addict for life and THAT way they can focus on not being a victim to that addictionfor TODAY.

Then tomorrow, they repeat the process

Every addict has one more high in them or one more drink or one more bet.. but do they have one more resolve and self-realisation moment to cease that behavior for today?

That is the key

Acceptance of what you are; belief that you can not succumb for 24hrs at a time.

Havent had issue with alcohol, yet in 1993, went thru breathylser after 20 carlton colds and was blind drunk, yet policeman said i was under limit

I had no idea how i made it home

Yet the next day i realised i could have injured myself and others and was blessed not to have lost licence etc

Soooo, have not had a drink then driven since

Plus i hate the taste of alcohol
