Will “wanting to win” be more acceptable in 2025 than 2000-2008?

I don't think it was deliberate on his part though- he was just barely in the edit.
It reminds me of a line from the film Torch Song Trilogy: It's easier to love someone who's dead: they make so few mistakes.

Unlike recently retired Channel 7 Adelaide newsreader Jane Doyle who used to constantly make mistakes while she was reading the nightly bulletin!

Ryan winning BBAU in 2014 was a classic "fly under the radar" strategy.

He's one of those winners that I blame on casual viewers that don't pay attention. He probably was just inoffensive and fine as there was nothing memorable. There were moments where he was a dick and moments you'd catch himself holding back.

I think a perfect example is Jake from 2014 - He just tried way to hard to put on a character rather than be himself and it saw him be ousted pretty quickly. Some people can seem like a character but that is actually a fairly authentic version of them eg Skye, Penny, and it gets them a lot further. (I cannot believe I managed to remember three people from 2014!)

Going back into my BB folders to remember who Jake was I found this video of Penny and Skye. I think the video link where I uploaded it only lasts a few days. Didn't want to put it on my personal YouTube.
