libliblibby ...fair play. Truth be told I have also enjoyed the moments when Ben has stepped up and out of his shell, and you are right, those moments have often come when Ben has been in Tims company. Tim may taunt him, poke and prod him, but I do sense that he has some genuine empathy for him....it's interesting that some of the most intimate and insightful interactions Ben has had with any housemate has been with Tim. Don't get me wrong the others have at times comforted him with "ata boy Ben, you'll be right" or "I trust you, you're genuine"....but his exchanges with Tim have often been more substantial.
I think what infuriates Tim and many others on the forums (myself included) is that despite being in the house for so long and having been give so much love and even babied into opening up and contributing, Ben all too easily slips back into his "I'm so poor and helpless" routine. In the real world there is only so much of that I would tolerate before I would just say oh bugger with it...I'm through feeling sorry for you. It's precisely in those moments that i think "oh you bloody parasite". Ben has the potential to be a wonderful person if he would only work for it...I suspect however that he is more comfortable with the easy way out of life...thing is, that will only last for as long as mum and nan are around. What then ?
