JEMMA Gawned, the Big Brother housemate who went on to establish her own cosmetics range, has been dealt another blow to her business ambitions following news that her company has been put into administration.

JG Creative, formerly Jemma Cosmetics, has had a torrid few months following news in August that a liquidator had been appointed to the company started by the young make-up artist, who tried to build her make-up empire on the back of her Big Brother stardom.

The business started with a humble but successful lip gloss line. However, creditors have voluntarily decided to wind it up after a sustained period of financial stress. Word of Gawned's business troubles has been an open secret for more than a year, with backers previously sought for the company - which announced global expansion plans in 2008 in the wake of a name change and relaunch in 2007, which also followed a name change and relaunch in 2004.
.
Sources said Gawned, who a year ago was dating future Dancing With The Stars host Daniel MacPherson, had learned some tough business lessons but was optimistic. Gawned's plans for any future entrepreneurial activity are not known as calls to her were unsuccessful. Even brother Rodney in Perth admitted he had been unable to reach her.

Gawned began the business in 2002 following a post-Big Brother stint as a TV host and model. She was last featured in Melbourne WAG-turned-photographer Alex Fevola's book of celebrity portraits.

lol, I can't believe Tonya Harding is still around - in public I mean. Ol' Wes (every mother would like to have a son like Wes, to quote Paul of that year) is going to look all bright and shiny next to those three.

Bionic eye project boosted by $42m grant

Big Brother winner Reggie, who is now legally blind, has welcomed the $42 million boost in funds for the Australian-led effort to build a bionic eye.

Regina Sorenson, the popular 2003 winner of the reality TV show, said the project represented a brighter future for vision impaired people.

"It is amazing," said Ms Sorenson who has seen an example of the type of vision a bionic eye, at this early stage of its development, could restore.

"It was in black and white and you can see outlines of things and shadows.

"By the time I do go totally blind - hopefully I don't but if I do - then hopefully something like that would be available."

The 35-year-old Gold Coast mother of two is slowly losing her sight to the degenerative disease retinitis pigmentosa (RP).

Her daughter Mia is now two years old while her son Lucas is aged just 15 weeks.

Mrs Sorenson said her vision had "deteriorated pretty fast over the last couple of years, and I'm hoping it will slow down".

"I've got 10 degrees of vision left," she said.

"I've got good central vision when I focus on something that is in front of me, but I don't have any peripheral vision left.

"And I can't see above or below ... if someone is next to me I have to turn my whole head around to look at them."

She added that her doctors, family and friends were remaining "very positive about it all".

The federal government this week announced a $42 million grant for Melbourne-based Bionic Vision Australia (BVA).

It is developing technology that uses a small video camera fixed to a glasses, and its images are sent as electrical pulses to electrodes attached to a patient's retina.

While not able to recreate sight, it would allow people with vision impairment to detect large objects and, in time, read text and recognise some facial features.

Human trials of the bionic eye could begin within two years.

I saw an article about her a few weeks ago too, in New Idea/Woman's Day, not sure which.

TODAY is a sad day for fans of busty bikini babe Krystal Forscutt .

The lads' magazine market may never be the same with Forscutt, who found fame by getting breast implants with her mother to ensure they were picked as Big Brother housemates in 2006, saying she is quitting glamour modelling.

Forscutt has told Zoo Weekly she is swapping bikinis, pouts and poses for an acting career.

"I'm looking for a challenge, and trying to crack the acting world," Forscutt has told the magazine.

"I'm also currently enrolled in a singer/songwriter course and just trying to broaden my skills beyond wearing a bikini, although it wasn't as easy as it looks, trust me."

Forscutt said her highlight in the past four years was entertaining Aussie troops in East Timor.

"What an experience," she said. "The part where I ended up covered in my own vomit (on a helicopter) wasn't that great, though."

Wow and to think it was only a few months ago that she said he hated the all attention she got from BB? I mean for someone who values privacy so much she sure likes to do things that bring her a lot of attention.

Krystal Forscutt admits she's never watched an episode of the Channel 10 show Big Brother

FORMER Big Brother contestant Krystal Forscutt has never watched an episode of the show that launched her career.

"I can't bring myself to watch it," the buxom brunette said of the Channel 10 reality series.

"I attach it with being trapped for three months. I feel nauseous thinking about it."

Forscutt said it was hard to change back to "normal life" after her stint on the program in 2006.

"I thought I would be able to go back to my old life," she told the Northern Territory News in Darwin.

"I never thought (I would become famous)."

Forscutt said she had trouble adjusting to reality, and felt as though she was constantly being watched.

And the girl who really made her name strutting in a bikini has turned her back on it to become a serious actress and she plans on studying musical theater to increase her work prospects.

Wow so ok outside of the world of slutty magazines people probably have forgotten who you were by now since it's been about 5 years since they saw your ugly mug on TV so you want to become less famous by going into the world of acting? I also have to laugh at the second quote I doubt Krystal would know what reality is if it jumped out from between her tits and bit her. I really didn't know they had singing in porn nor did I know that porn was considered a serious acting gig or acting for that matter.

Blair's secret mission

FORMER Neighbours star Blair McDonough is reportedly secretly shooting a pilot for Seven, centred around the "dream job of a lifetime", which had such currency when there was an international competition to win a job on Hamilton Island for 12 months.

The only difference? Contestants win their dream job every week on the show (think of it as a more accessible version of The Apprentice).

The pilot was rumoured to have cost about $500,000 to make.

It is unclear whether the man, who first shot to fame as an inmate on Big Brother, will host the show should it get the green light.
