Yes you are. Anyone tolerant enough to put up with me for a 12 month period.. MUST be a saint. lol
I LOVE nurses and loathe it that their work is completely underrated. PROPS to you!!

Ohhh if you don't mind me asking (and forgive me if you have mentioned before, I live in a bubble sometimes) but why did you have a 12 month stay, of course if you don't mind disclosing?

MVA, COMA and many operations due to MVA.( had 19 ops in that 12 month period : skin grafting, micro surgery, orthopedic work...etc..) I cruised between ICU and TRAUMA. depending on how surgeries went.

I was in a serious MVA a few years ago and I swear it was the nurses, not the doctors who helped/supported me the most during my stay in hospital and my care afterwards.MVA, COMA and many operations due to MVA.( had 19 ops in that 12 month period : skin grafting, micro surgery, orthopedic work...etc..) I just found the Dr's didn't care and did what they 'had' to and move on. The nurses were amazing and comforting.NURSES YES.. Dr's (apart from one) did not give a shit. Are YOU ok now?
I'm a lot better now. I broke quite a few bones, so when it's cold I get a few issues and I'll get arthritis eventually no doubt. But i'm alive

YAY we are BOTH weather vanes! You are so right though.. DR's come for the mandatory 11am view to poke or prod.. then.. nothing. Nurses are always there to talk to, be a counsel of sorts. I have now as a result what's known as traumatic osteoporosis. I've had all up 26 ops as a result of the MVA and I probably have another 10 to go? I am fine now, in that I can walk now when I was told I never would. THAT is a BOOM BITCHES RL situation in my book and I thank the nurses who helped me with their support FOR that. They were not complacent..they supported my determination. Only had one Dr be with me on my journey the whole way and that's my Microsurgeon. He's a keeper.

Wow 26 operations, that is crazy. I found that I would be seeing different doctors all the time too, so they wouldn't know what had happened to me and i'd have to start from scratch again. At least the nurses make you feel comfortable and actually care to see how you are.YAY we are BOTH weather vanes! You are so right though.. Seriously, doctors should have some sort of personality exam they need to pass before they can work with people. Some have no people skills at all.

Crazy perhaps but my reality. That does include relatively "minor" stuff like skin grafting of course. Bonus is, I have awesomely smooth thighs now! lol No cellulite either and my skin there is like SILK!!
Which hospital were you in? I ask as at least I DID have the same Dr to give an idle glance my way in Westmead. It would have been worse to get some random checking you out. I am sorry you had to go through that.

I've heard good things about Westmead hospital. Unfortunately due to where I was at the time I was in Gosford Hospital. They've very under staffed and of course I was admitted on a Saturday night …Crazy perhaps but my reality. That does include relatively "minor" stuff like skin grafting of course. I've had a few operations in my lifetime and when I've gone to private hospitals, hands down the care is so much better by doctors. St Vincents Private has been the best hospital I've been in.
