@Witty Banter i just counted how many posts i did from 3pm to 3 am yesterday and it was 57. Keep in mind this is with:

- no affable.

- no inigo

- me not posting in ot thread.

- you and the clique not fighting.

So it will be interesting to see how i go.

Not any that come to mind. But for the sake of flow and fun (why Reepbot thread is the best!) Ill ask one off the cuff.
I know you have seen a lot of movies but I have noticed with a great delight your penchant for older movies.
Classics from times passed. But to my mind several eras which relied on pure storytelling and inventive direction as per the technological limiting parameters of the time. So. My Question. What originally garnerned your interest in older movies?

not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that they are older movies. i only judge a movie, or really any entertainment or art by this one question: am i engaged with this piece of work or am i bored? it just so happens that i find a lot of classics very entertaining.

how do you think i will go with my ten posts a day (five posts a day when uni is on) between the hours of 3 pm and 3 am qld time, fuzz?

Its refreshing. Im not sure many of your age group would bother. Due to movies now pandering to more and more short attention spans conditioned by big budget whizz bang excitement.
Its often said that the 70's were the last era of the great auteur. Where the director had control.

not sure about the age group thing because even my grandma finds black and white movies more boring than i do lol.

yeah but star wars probably helped to start the blockbuster era really.

Agree. The original Toy Story.
Hollywood first laughed then gasped when Lucas had a kind of force vision to write characters and stories steeped in puffy mythologies but able to be transformed into toy dolls. He bridged the gap.
Everything after was changed. Plots were not so important but what can we merchandise out of it!
But everything balances. A strong independent movie making culture developed as kind of a bacteria to the mainstream.

i think i might have read that book.

yeah the merchandising gave lucas a lot of money.

do you have any favourite movie performances?

George C. Scott in "Patton"

never seen patton. i will one day. right now i am watching castle. ever seen that fuzz? i read a review that said the two main characters didn't have any chemistry. my question is how can you tell? and can chemisty ever happen online or does it have to be in real world so to speak?

And the fact he refused to accept the academy award in 1971 for his performance describing the Oscars as a "two hour meat parade"

that is true. awards being treated as important when they are actually not. hours upon hours of whether leo is going to take his precious oscar when wealth inequality, global warming, and the clusterfuck in the middle east gets pushed to the back pages and the side columns.

As Molly would say, do yourself a favour and see it Reepbot. I am biased. I have a great interest in WW2.
Have you heard of Rommel Reepbot? (mooseface-be quiet!)
The Desert fox. The german tank commander who battled Patton and that useless british general Montgomery.
Northern Africa.
One famous tale is that Montgomery had almost 10 times the arsenal, tanks and manpower to drive Rommel from his position.
Rommel ordered his measly number of tanks to circle in the desert thus creating a huge sandstorm that Montgomery pulled back due to his belief that Rommel had a huge tank arsenal at his disposal.
Sorry. Digressing a bit. I hope you get to see the movie.
Have not seen Castle. What's the premise?
