Proxima Centauri is the closest star to Earth and would take 73,000 years travelling at the speed of Voyager 1, which is one of the fastest objects ever made by man. A lot of the reality is disappointing, space cadet.

Wow,73, 000 years. You could do a lot of forum posts in that time. And yes, reality can be disappointing sometimes.

Mooseface says grace before the big space race.
For a long while it was taught that light had no mass, but finally NASA have agreed with my long held belief it does have mass. I completely told them so. Apparently 2kgs hit the Earth every second, now that they have stolen my Banter Principle of Light Mass.

How did they change their minds?

By firing whopping great laser beams to move objects. I lacked the budget and desk space to prove it earlier, but I did bore anyone who'd listen it had mass.

If you had an unlimted budget what would you spend it on? Do you often bore people on subjects? I often try to keep my mouth shut. I am very quiet.

Easy. The mystery of inertia. We study space but know very little about the relationship between gravitational attraction and inertial resistance. That, and being able to measure time and gravity directly, rather than by watching it's influence on something else. We can't even measure time, we measure rates and count things affected by it. We can't measure gravity, we measure distance of things affected by it. It's time to get our own backyard in order before shooting for the stars.

Interesting. I agree that we should get our backyard in order first.

If you found one hundred dollars on the ground, and there was no one else around, what would you do?
If there is no one obviously owning it or having dropped it, I would keep it. No problem. I believe if you are careless enough to not look after money, you have too much of it.
