What would reepbot say?

If light can't escape from a black hole, then maybe you can argue anyone on the outside of one will never, ever know. Some waves escape so maybe something can be done. I don't personally believe in wormholes or popping out the other side. I'd just look at it that all the atoms of all the world's people would fit into an apple except for the space between them, so things can compress pretty well. I think continual compression until explosion, but no singularity.

That starts to be philosophy. I don't personally believe in the possibility of a singularity, so do research and form your own opinion. What is not controversial is that there are objects that affect orbits that we receive no light from and produce occasional large bursts of electomagnetic activity as they swallow stars. Given even NASA admit we have virtually no idea about gravity on Earth, anyone at all pretending to be an expert on black holes is telling fibs. The best we can do is guess and choose theories that predict orbits the best.

Ok. Will do that.

How do you rate this thread so far?

Younger and less validationy(sic) than OT, which is all that matters. Too many questions about rating it, though. Buzz killer of hooley proportions.

Normally i wouldn't care. But apparently it's important that threads are rated now. Maybe inigo is trying to institute a thread rating trend?

Nah. She even tagged him so she's hoping Affable returns. At least she knows which thread to look in for his real friends! ;)

The same affable she called immature? I don't think we were his friends. Though who knows with inigo. Except for you. Because witty knows all. He can read minds. Even if you say that he is wrong he will say you are wrong.

I think the greatest discovery of the next century would be measurement of gravity on Earth that is not subject to inertia. I'd drop every bit of research into black holes and concentrate on that. I'm quite serious. Don't pretend to know about the other side of the universe if you can't measure gravity in front of you without also being affected by inertia.

There's a bit of a growing beige scourge in here, but at least the structure is flat and it's everyone for themselves/leaderless. OT is in a holding pattern, awaiting ruts to set back in.

And there is the real WB, can't stand the fact that someone else is more interesting than themselves.

I joined up for a sci-fi social group. Apparently they are going to talk about science fiction stuff. It isn't a big group yet but i hope more people join. They will discuss Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, plus heaps of other things. Pm me if you think i am not telling the truth.

I wonder if they will talk about Kylo Ren and his luxurious mane of hair. I wish i had his hair. Though i think i have got pretty good hair.
