My uni is basically all online so there is no chance of any real life interaction. My best bet is to join a club like with board games or maybe even writing. I did have a look at a book club meetup but they all seemed to be at restaurants.
Have you checked out MeetUp. In Melbourne (and Germany) there are HEAPS of MeetUp groups for everything under the sun. Melbourne more, but I joined a couple of groups as soon as I moved to Germany and 'instantly' (reasonably quickly) made several REAL LIFE FRIENDS, one of whom is now my flatmate. Melbourne definitely had board game Meetups. My colleague would sometimes go and even host them.

I have the problem of completing the full safari set :(

what is the full safari set?

only about two more hours to go!! I can just imagine affable editing, re-polished, re-witing, and making sure his leaving message is perfect. I am picturing him with scraps of paper lying all aound him. He picks up his pen, as he knows that only true genius can show this way, and writes 'Dear comrades, I write this to.....'. Then he stops, picks up the paper, scrunches it up, and in a rage he hurls it down on the floor amongst all the others.

He looks forlornly at the clock on his wall. It was a gift, from who he could not remember. All celebrations to him seemed just to blend into the other. He wonders if the second hand is stuck. But there is no time for such trivial matters. He only has one thing on his mind: to show the world his genius.

Then he picks up another piece of paper and starts again.

There is zero chance of a big nasty last second message...too many loose ends. If it's very late it will be all hugs and kisses, happy landings vomit.
