22- LETTERS AND NUMBERS
images

The next host of Big Brother.

This would have to be my favorite game show of all time. I love the format of the show with its mixture of word and number games. I also like how some puzzles are easy or some are hard depending on the letters that the contestants choose or the numbers that Lily pushes on her board. But best of all I always liked playing along at home. Seeing if I could solve a particular tricky number puzzle before the contestants, or trying to spot a nine letter word. It was always such great fun to play.

Unfortunately, 'Letters and Numbers' has been cancelled for some unknown weird reason. It seems that the people of SBS, who I am sure are all very hard working and talented, decided that this fabulous game show should be given the flick. Which I do not understand. I do not understand at all. If I was in charge of a tv station I would put on new episodes of 'Letters and Numbers' every single night.
Would you check the opposition's worked math solutions or just nod politely? I'd say 'you forgot to carry the 2' to put them off their game.

Paradise Hotel? OK.
This is dramality tv at its best. The perennial struggle.. Your thoughts WB?
David Daskal is an all-star. I think that was the cushion fort season :). My Big Fat Fiance about the same time was good fun. Oh, the VHS memories.

I tried to find David's 'My name is Dayyyyvidd Daskalll' introduction. That stuck, and his little broken heart. I think Joe Millionaire and the early Bachelors are past their use-by date, but both US and Aus Temptation Islands, Beauty and the Geek and Average Joes are Golden Era.

Jack Bauer did not like to receive late mail.

'24' is an action packed tv show which never stops. There is no room to breathe on this show. Every hour, every minute, every second, and every moment of this heart stopping show there is no time to stop and think. It is a very fast paced show. But that is not the only reason I like it, I like it because I find it really enjoyable with all its twists and the way the story develops over the course of the day.

A hotly contested debate about '24' is its use of torture. There have been numerous incidents on that show where suspects, or relatives of suspects have been harshly interrogated. People have wondered if it is wise to show such torture on the screen. I say yes. Television, like all art, must show the good and bad side of life. However, people have to remember that it is just a tv show. For me I of course don't agree with violence. But that doesn't mean i can't enjoy a show such as this.

There is a golden moment from US Temptation Island that is indelible in my mind. The skinhead who is lamenting heavily about his red headed swain. This is where genius reality TV kicks in. Incisive editing. Everything else is fluff. So to speak.
So, skinhead laments whines and he's sure his juliet is looking at the stars as he is and thinking of each other.
Editing smash cut to red-headed partner on other island basically enacting an "M" rated bukkake dance.

I hope Larry Sanders show is in your list Reepbot. Jeffrey Tambor is briliant as a dumb lucky hack with fame but with enough nous to exploit it.
Plus Tonight shows are an agent of the devil.
Peter Cook proved that. On purpose.
