I did try it in Peru. Just a little smidge. It tasted like chicken. I couldn't eat any more. Then I went to wineries in Argentina and cuys were everywhere
Did you stand where the Griswolds stood at the Grand Canyon?

Possibly. It seems freakishly similar
I had the world's stupidest idea of trying to road trip San Francisco -> Astoria (Goonies) -> Idaho (Napoleon Dynamite->Arizona/Colorado (Nat Lampoon's Vacation) -> SF in a weekend. I forgot, miles are hella far and only got to Astoria before packing it in, seeing goonies sights at 3am, sleeping a bit on Mt St Helens and turning around. I don't actually know what I was thinkng as I had work commitments on the Monday.

Gosh, do you have to leave your room to watch TV? Your parents are awful! You should contact Malcolm Turnbull! Take those nasty humans to court for depriving you of that digital cable!

It was my own choice to get rid of the digital cable.

One day I'd like to drive LA - SF - Portland. I really want to see San Simeon in person. I've read accounts of it back in the heyday of Hollywood.

I went on Sunday drive once in Michigan. Heading north to see what I could find and ended up in effing Canada. When I realized how close to the boarder I was, it was too late to turn around and had no choice but to exit the US - without a passport. I truly understood what it felt like to be in no-man's land, literally, going back and forth twice with both countries refusing entry, for hours and hours. But, I did get back in time for work on Monday.

I had watched a Pixar making of video and they said when they got writer's block, they would drive LA - SF as it is so boring. It's incredibly straight...20 kms at a time perfectly straight and bare but I got about 20 smallish twisters and everyone was driving 150kmh, so quite fun. Oregon/Washington State/St Helens and Haystack Rock I would definitely go and see again. Definitely see the North Calfornian redwoods /Muir Woods

My very first drive in the US was at 2am in Atlanta...I had booked the smallest rental car possible to keep things simple but the Delta rental lot was well off the airport and 2 heavy black women told me I'd take what I'm given so ended up with a minibus driving other side of the road in redneck atlanta. There was a vibe of, you'll take this van or you'll be a white man in the middle of a car yard at 2am without nothing.

Friends of mine lived near Muir Woods. It's a lovely place on Mt Tamalpais.

John Lasetter?

John Lasetter?
Yes, and Stanton.

PS my biggest recommendation is to see Lake Tahoe...clearest water in the world or something. Cold water and coarse granite sand, but beautiful and very different to Australia. I meant to see Yosemite but never made it.
