Then yes.

at my last science fiction meeting one of the guys there was discussing about his latest book. and apparently he self-publishes on Amazon. First book he wrote, which he admitted was crap due to lack of editing and rewriting, sold 10, 000 copies.

would i have to use my real name? or could i use a fake name like some writers do?

Probably safer to use a pseudonym unless you are super confident that it's epic.

yeah. ok. i'll at least try it. test out different ways of writing it. plus work out designs. make it less navel gazing than this thread.

Too True! Need to step out of the box (here) so to speak, although I am sure you already have a few peeps here, that will help share your works around. :)

Not worth pissing on a tree, that doesn't need a feed!

Go for it Reepy - go spend your energy in a positive way. Send it anywhere and everywhere. You never know where it will end up, especially if it is positive, entertaining and well, mind provoking!

of course i have to choose my new name before i write my blog. can't think of anything really good right now.

John Monk?

John Day?

i know this thread in a way is kind of a blog for me. but creating a blog would enable me to hopefully expand my audience. i do love writing here of course. but a blog could help me structure my thoughts in a clearer way than in here.

Expansion is the only way forward IMHO. You can still share here, but maybe it is time to take it to another platform. You can do both.

J.D.L Day might work, as well - (John Doe Linda Day) LOL

I do admire a creative mind, that takes it beyond, even if I personally don't get everything written.

Support from others is very important. Like at Toastmasters and the games club (you might be better with different games LOL) etc

Just get out there.

I have a game that a friend of mine invented, that I might just share here soon ..... :)

yep. i can do both. though maybe if the blog is to do with my journey into writing i should mostly use it to relate to creativity and all that other stuff. though maybe i could also do reviews, short stories, commentry on current events, and of course stuff to do with writing.

i won't do moose references. i'll save that for my moose blog. or as i like to call it: my mlog.

toastmasters is excellent at supporting you to reach your goals relating to public speaking. i wasn't too impressed with the games club. i just didn't feel like i belonged, like i was excited to be there. i mean there is this other club that is starting which is a non fiction book club, so i am going to check that out. i think my main problem was that i found out the gender imbalance of it being 99% male was something i found both disconcerting and boring at the same time. i didn't think it would be, but it did.

please share your friend's game!
