A Sunny Day In Glasgow - Ashes Grammar (2009)
This is a really great shoegazey/dream poppy album. It features lovely melodies, driving beats, breathtaking vocals and dreamy instrumentation. It surpassed my expectations pretty easily <3

Also been listening to some of the Beatles remasters and they sound amazing.

The one and only Muse. This is just genius stuff.

I really do not like Muse's new album. I don't know if it's just me but they seem to be becoming more and more wanky with each album. I mean this new one is just so overblown with Queen-esque grandiose guitars and all these other stupid things. I know they've always had that kind of feel about them but it seems to be getting just lame. I miss the days of Absolution.

I do like that Youtube video though, Invincible is one of my favs from Black Holes.

I haven't heard the new album yet, I'm waiting to buy it when it's released.
I really like Uprising, I hope the rest isn't too horrible ...

and if it is, I can always go back and listen to Absolution and Origin of Symmetry and feel better. I would still do anything to see them live.

Been listening to a couple of really excellent soundtracks lately - Clint Mansell's score to The Fountain and Bear McCreary's Battlestar Galactica Season 4 Soundtrack.

You might not want to watch this first one from The Fountain, if you're the sort of person who doesn't like spoilers. It's really just like an extended trailer, but if you don't want to risk it, I've posted one with no visuals below it.

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour (Stereo Remaster)
Wow, this sounds so good. Their later albums really lend themselves to stereo mixing much more than the earlier ones, which were rather simplistic in terms of song structure, instrument layers, etc. This is great.

i really disliked this when i first heard it, but now i cant stop singing it!! >.<

F*** Buttons - Tarot Sport (2009)
Oh wow, this is immense. It's repetitive electronica which generally builds into this massive crescendo which is epic as hell. I love this kind of stuff. AOTY perhaps.

I listened to it yesterday, and found it rather bland. It is an extension of the more melodramatic moments of previous albums. They don't seem to be evolving and growing in their style.

I like the message of the album though. Maybe a few more listens will endear it to me.

The Crayon Fields - All The Pleasures Of The World
This is a cool little Australian band I discovered recently. It's chamber pop, similar to bands such as Belle & Sebastian, The New Pornographers, The Shins, etc. It's cute.

The Pierces, this song especially
