RIP ........... RESPECT!!!!!!!! - Loved you from then until now and beyond

David Bowie invented a genre - and then moved onto another- and then did it again and again

Hope my Train ends up at your Station xxxxxx
The King of Glam Rock is gone. David Bowie was a huge influence music wise during my teens. I can remember going to my friends place and laying on her bed listening to David Bowie and admiring her David Bowie posters on the wall. We were to say the least, very huge fans.

This is such a massive loss for the music world. David pioneered the way for the likes of Boy George, Madonna, Lady Gaga (those types of artists) who knew there are more ways to express yourself other than just your vocals.

R.I.P and thank you David/Ziggy Stardust for the years of loving your music and will continue to do so.

P.S @Mr Stickyfingers , I know this news will come with great shock and sadness to you too.

...you know me so well Groover... yes I was so gutted... the last time I felt like this was the day that John Lennon was shot dead as I said in a previous post... it'll be the same when Paul McCartney finally leaves us... those three people changed the way that music was going at the time... in the mid 60's and early 70's it was my teen years and their songs and music meant everything to me... to see them passing on really guts me because that's part of me dying on the inside too... most people aren't aware of just how much music influences your mind and soul and heart until it's taken away from you such as now... to think that David will not be releasing anymore future songs and albums after his latest one is a sad thought indeed... music makes life a lot easier...

...that's why I love coming to this thread... until I came here I was so unaware of so many artists and their songs... when you guys post your favourite artists songs I always listen to them especially when I've never seen them before... I then go onto YouTube to listen to some more of their songs and at times go and buy their albums whereas I never would done have before...

...also... back in the late 60's and during the 70's I so hated Bob Dylan because at the time he was such an egotistical pretentious prat the way that he used to carry on and I hated him and refused to listen to any of his music because of it... but over the last few years.... because of Alias's love of Bob Dylan and because Alias quite often posts Bob Dylan's songs I have grown to love his music big time... something that I didn't appreciate back in those days of when he was actually singing and releasing them... (by the way... thanks for that Alias)... so that is the beauty of music (with the exception of Crap music... I so hate that stuff)... it unites people and affects people in so many ways... when you yourself Groover plays a whole swathe of 60's and 70's hits I'm instantly time-warped back to that era and enjoy it so much lol!... so many memories come flooding back of my teen years... (and I thank you for that too)...

...so yeah... you are so right when you say that I'm so sad about his death... but hey!... what a legacy he has left us?... as Tess said a couple of pages back... "there are so many songs to choose from"... yes... so many indeed... anyhow... we need to just keep on enjoying not only David Bowie's music but everyone's music... go this thread you good thing you!... just one more video of David Bowie to end this post on... it is such good viewing... I highly recommend that you watch it... it's brilliant!)... cheers.

That's OK Sticky. That's great to hear you've become a Bob convert! That's one down... :D

I love your posts about Bowie and music. It's hard to express that feeling of love for music and how it can become such a big part of us but you express it so well. Here's a tune for you. ;)

Lets hope Bob is taking his vitamins. Bowie and Bob are my heros.
I don't even want to think about it. So many great musicians have died recently. It's so sad.
