Family folklaw. My father got pissed, with some good family friends (they'd actually bought our house; so when we visited it was hyper-familiar). Not dissing dad; mum was drunk too :p

Anyway; the evening got older, and sillier. And Dad's mate decided that he was going to give some shit to Idi Amin. So they called him. On the phone, from Kyabram, to Uganda. Sometime in the late 1970s. Two drunk school teachers (and a couple of adults); giving what for to Amin's First Aide; at oh-my-god-o'clock. I think I was maybe, 8?

Best memory ever; even more now I understand what the hell was going on.

Yeah; the eating people thing was what they were telling him off about on the phone. From Kyabram, Victoria to Uganda, via (then) Telecom -- they figured they were safe. Fuck I miss my dad... So much silliness and anarchy wrapped into such a compact package lol.

Oh, haha; no. My Dad died 12 years ago from melanoma, not Idi Amin. He was too young, and I still hate the fact he's not here (and no, I'm not over it; he was a great bud, and I miss him). But; I'm on the side of remembering the funny/stupid/ludicrous things he did - and believe me; that phone call was one of them. Took about 6 months to pay off the phone bill haha. Probably why I still have a couple of crooked teeth :P

Make light all you can -- we're talking about a bloke who's wake involved a full motorsport event - because that's what he loved. Miss him like hell; that will never change :)

Not for a moment. BS*T - twee, late 60s, early 70s opportunistic crap. But - it's still the noise I remember. I come from a non-unique family, lol!

Used to think I managed to escape the mass produced, "supergroup" crap. But then dad latched onto Santana, and fuck me, if I never hear The Breakfast Song again, I'll be old enough.
