What are you most looking forward to about the new season?

Interestingly, the wording of the synopsis they've currently got on official channels is:

"Unscripted, unfiltered unmissable. Big Brother Australia is the ultimate social experiment. Housemates live together under constant surveillance, competing in challenges, forming alliances, and facing evictions — all under the watchful eye of Big Brother. Tune in for drama, strategy, and surprises as the countdown to the new season begins! BBAU starts Sunday Nov 9 on Channel 10"

Key words "challenges", "alliances", "strategy" are prominently mentioned so I'm curious what their angle is, and to what effect.

My current guess is that somebody from the 10 press or online department or whatever just took lines that EndemolShine/Banijay has provided and they went with it. I don't know how often I've seen official material from them where they advertise the show using the US format. If you'd believe Banijay, 90% of BBs around the world has people voting each other out and having a jury deciding the winner.

But I feel like I've read that description a couple of times before and with just a quick search, I've already found a few

The press release for Malta read like this:
The show sees a group of strangers living as houseguests in complete isolation and under constant surveillance in the specially-constructed Big Brother House. Competing in various challenges, the contestants battle to evade eviction by fellow houseguests, until the fate of the final two is decided and only one emerges victorious with the grand cash prize.

The release for the Big Brother game said this:
offering the opportunity to experience the thrill of living in iconic Big Brother houses; auditioning, competing in challenges, and forming virtual alliances to navigate the pitfalls of housemate nominations and evictions.

And a report mentioning BB Najia features this line (which I also expect came from a PR release)
Each season, housemates live together under constant surveillance, competing in challenges and getting eliminated until there’s one winner.

So right now.. would rather expect some PR people copying stuff from Banijay than actual meaningful content. As for the strategy department, I wouldn't rule out some kind of HoH, because it's widely used on BB franchises around the world these days. But a lot of these implementations don't come with a lot of strategy.

I actually would prefer they just allowed contestants to discuss nominations. With the public ultimately voting, alliances won’t be as vital as in the Ch7 version. It was the editing of strategy that was the problem in Ch7 rather than the strategy itself.

Completely disagree. Watch the US version if that’s what you want out of the show. Discussion of nominations is a fundamental rule across the board. It then adds to the strategic aspect of the show and takes away from actually getting to know the housemates.

They’re typically allowed to nominate strategically but there’s no reason for them to openly discuss that outside of the diary room.

No. Sorry.

I'm looking forward to the streaming aspect, when I think back to the early iteration of the show, I loved the forums as much as I loved the show. Now being even more media cynical I am hoping to sharpen my media dissection skills.
