Honestly I don't disagree and whatever works for people is what is best, there is a reason we make resolutions and celebrate the new year as it symbolises a clean start. I just think it's a flawed logic to assume that a new year automatically erases any old problems.

I've had a truly shitty year of my life before, easily the worst, but it wasn't a calendar year but rather twelve months of my life that spanned over two different years. To me this shows it's an arbitrary thing to just appoint a day where everything is magically better.

I absolutely agree with celebrating a year of hell being over and I genuinely hope 2017 is a great year for you.

I just suspect that in the coming weeks and months there will be posts about how 2017 is no better due to x social unrest or x celebrity dying. Hopefully great things happen and this is what people are posting about!
