Coles & Safeway this week began selling Optus & Telstra "$30 Prepaid Sim Cards" for 1/2 price ($15). They operate the exact same way as a $30 Sim card would, only they're $15. So there is nothing stopping people (fans, family members) from buying these Sim cards, activating them & using all of the $30 credit to vote for their fav HM.

Is this a loophole that could potentially be exploited by family members of HMs?

now it is! but Priya already has the advantage
 
Who would bother? In the old days we might have, though. I just couldn't fathom doing it this year (or even last year. The year before that, maybe, because we hadn't had BB for a few years so it was all exciting again).

Hopefully the majority of Skye fans are too young to purchase them.

Yes it does work. If you buy one of these $15 SIM cards & activate it on a Cap Plan then you get $30 CREDIT to do whatever you like (including Prem SMS) + $250 Bonus Credit for calls/sms. So you get $30 worth of votes for $15. #Score.
Wish I could Vote to Evict! Priya would soooo be gone this week.

Just need to make sure you're recharging on a prepaid plan that allows premium SMS. It's pretty easy to find all that info online.

I was doing this last year. They kept having 30-50% off Vodafone recharges at Coles so I grabbed a $2 sim card and chucked it in my old phone to vote...I don't like voting from my normal phone which is on a plan because I'm scared of getting a crazy bill at the end of the month. I'll either use FB or my old phone with prepaid credit when they have deals so I at least know how much I'm spending on voting.
