If you’re talking to somebody about their chances of winning the lottery, it’s only natural to ask them what they might do with the money, should they be lucky enough to win.
But this local news reporter in the US might just have regretted making that move.
Ophelia Young had been doing a live broadcast for Fox5 from Primm, Nevada, as excitement mounted over the Powerball lottery and its potential $700m jackpot.
Which started smoothly enough as she began interviewing one ticket holder about his chances of winning – which he admitted were ‘slim to none’ – only for things to get slightly out of hand when she asked him how he might spend the money.

His response: ‘A bunch of hookers and cocaine’. Oh.
Young attempted to look as unruffled as possible as she quipped: ‘Not good…we were hoping for a different answer’ – but didn’t do the best job as she fought back giggles.
And it didn’t go unnoticed in the studio either as the anchor promptly added: ‘Isn’t live TV grand?’
He’s not wrong there…
