Of course everyone is watching, how else are we meant to prepare for the zombie apocalypse!

That said I haven't actually see the season 4 premiere yet. I should probably also refresh my memory on what happened last season.

I loved the first three seasons. The season 4 premiere is on my to-do list for tomorrow...well technically today because it's 4am! Whoops.

I'm excited about what season 4 may bring.

Watched it and how creepy was that Clara in the woods.I thought she was a zombie at first and really wanted to see the head in the basket, although I thought it could have also been a baby...we haven't seen a zombie baby and I wonder why there are no zombie animals.

Watching Talking dead the executive producer said that when he wrote the part about Clara and she said it's just ahead..reading back what he wrote, saw the pun and then just decided to go with it.

Ok. So I just watched the Season 4 Premiere.....

Clara was totally creepy! I just don't have many words for this episode but I look forward to the next one. I'm just left trying to process it. I'm concerned though. It seems there's another way to get zombiefied now. Interesting.... :|

Yeah that sickness is concerning. First it got the animals and now that kid...

How stone cold was Beth! I think it's probably for the best though the death count in the new Walker World is staggeringly high.

You would definitely need to harden up to survive it. There'd only be so many people you could lose before you would start to wonder who is next and when.

We finally watched the first episode last night, and like with the previous three seasons i love how the walking dead explores humanity through Beth and that woman at the camp site.

The new disease is rather chilling, particularly that food sources are contracting it and the kid died near a source of water. The kid mentioned to Darryl how much he enjoyed eating a deer that he had caught at the start of the episode, so was that a clue to the source?

The new alcoholic medic also could be an interesting storyline.

I really like that they have expanded Carol's role more now, and that she is now longer this battered woman. It is probably what i like most about the Walking Dead that its characters are complex and mutable.

Still absolutely love Michonne and her sword lol.

I thought it could be a baby at first too; the child of Clara and Eddie that Clara in a deranged state was trying to feed. We have seen child walkers before, but not babies maybe because it would be too absurd/confronting/grotesque and distract from the actual point of the story? Case in point, with Clara they never showed Eddie's head and therefore it was about her suffering and her humanity and Rick's.

It was chilling I kept expecting that pig to come back and attack those other pigs. Not sure if the new disease is the same as the zombie virus for lack of a better word since the CDC guy did say that everyone was infected and you would expect anyone who died to automatically be turned..that makes me wonder now what safety meaures they have in play for when people die or if they have none maybe the fact that the kitd is now a zombie will take them by surprise and next episode means them leaving the prison.

I read a lot of zombie books and a recurring theme is always that there is that one guy who does something stupid and puts the whole group at risk and someone innocent dies..like the boy at the store

I would still like to see it though because they would be there, mothers who perhaps where pregnant and bitten..toddlers and very old people.People in wheelchairs etc etc there is so much they could show

Not sure if the new diesease is the same as the zombie virus. It could be just a way to speed it up because they are all infected anyways.I was wondering how he got sick..did he eat pork and get sick, was it the deer or was it the fact that Darryl licked all his fingers before shacking his hand which also then brings up the question that if Darryl ate the food and was fine maybe he is immune..there have to be some people that carry a immunity to the zombie virus

This new disease was exposed in the opening shots with the fresh zombie at the fence while Rick was playing Better Homes and Garden.

I thought it was quite slow. I hated the last season finale so I went in pressed.

I see what you mean I had to go back and look again, that zombie looked way different to all the others..like he had had hemorrhagic fever or something with all that blood running from the eye's.The slowness of the episode was just to introduce us to some new characters and show us how things had settled,Rick's relationship with his son etc..next episode is supposed to be much worse according to the talking dead

Oh yes! That's right. I remember when I watched it I thought that maybe he was like that because they'd been Zombie's for so long and it was a side effect. Hmmm. I'm intrigued.

Yes I also thought that because the producers said they were going to make the zombies look worse this season, never thought about a new aspect to the disease or a entirely new one till someone brought it up here

This is why discussion is good. It makes you see things you might have initially missed :)

Most of the zombies though are people who were bitten but escaped to live for a while before turning. So the elderly, wheelchair bound people and young kids would not often get away from the zombies - I imagine. There are probably way too few teenagers around though, both as zombies and survivors.

I enjoyed the episode though it was good to have a bit of break after the saga with the governor.
