THE VIRUS 2020 - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Anyone vaccinated yet?
I am in category 1(b), underlying conditions group, auto immune disease
Next in line, so tried to call GP yesterday
They cut their phones off completely, must have been inundated
Think I should speak to my specialist

I'm 2b so I have a little wait to go yet. I did wonder if I was 1b because of my asthma and the wording about medical conditions wasn't really clear. But then I went to the official government website and it said that mild to moderate asthma didn't count so that cleared that up.

Foolish Tina

Can't she see

That shutting borders

Makes us free!

"You just can't slam the border shut because someone's sneezed. And I mean that respectfully,"

Huh, seems like Tina may not be a fan of certain premiers.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Booked my vaccine, for next week
I am 1(b), all ages with underlying chronic anything, I have an auto immune disease
Highly susceptible to catch anything likely to die if I got Covid, immune system is fucked
Have to self isolate mostly, whilst everyone else can go maskless my mask is permanent for now

Docs tell me I can take this vaccine
Rang to book, 1st place had 2 months waiting list already!
Book now @Columbo
Found local service, they had phones turned off, walked there, voila...as I suspected phone less they
gave me a booking next week

Scumo and co estimated that 4 million Australian's would be vaccinated by 1st April.
Currently 600K are vaccinated.

Someone's dropped the ball. Again.

What was their excuse for this?
Scumo is blaming the overseas suppliers for not supplying Australia with enough doses.

Whilst this is probably true (I know some EU countries were holding up some supply, but was resolved a week or so later), the reality is Australia dragged its heels with the vaccine roll-out. Russia started vaccinating in September, The US, UK, Canada & most of Europe in December and Turkey & the UAE in January.

The USA signed and secured their vaccines from Astrazeneca in May 2020. Australia didn't sign an agreement until September 2020, and by that time a majority of other countries got in before us.

We were supposed to begin in February, and have 4 million people vaccinated by today. We have 600K vaccinated which equates to 2.4% of our population. By comparison (either fully or partially vaccinated):
- The USA has vaccinated 45% of its population (147.6M of 328M people)
- The UK has vaccinated 46% of its population (30.9M of 66.6M people)

With the exception of providing job keeper/job seeker, Scumo and the Federal government have done fuck all during the pandemic. Absolutely fucking nothing. The Premiers did everything - some better than others.

Scott Morrision is the most incompetent PM this country has ever seen. His hopes of capitalising on the pandemic and calling an early election have been paused because he knows he has zero chance of winning if we had to vote today.

I reckon he'd probably still win unfortunately
