Why border battle could end up in court
Annastacia Palaszczuk hasn’t ruled out fighting the Morrison government in the High Court to defend Queensland’s right to close its borders.
What is your view on this? You have been both pro opening up and pro palaszeczuk over certain things so I am not sure your thoughts on this one![]()

I wonder of those 113 how many chose not to get vaccinated as opposed to not eligible to get vaccinated when they got exposed. I also wonder how many didn't have the option for the vaccine they felt they wanted to take but would have been vaccinated if there had have been enough off the vaccine they wanted available? Not all unvaccinated are anti-vaxxers and if we want to get to 80% we need to understand why people are choosing not to get vaccinated and see if these are barriers that can be overcome.
In percentage terms: 89.7% unvaccinated. The double-dosed patient is reportedly an ICU nurse, so that's particularly sad.
It just goes to show that being vaccinated definitely reduces your chance of getting very sick. I'd be sure quite a few of those people weren't able to get vaccinated due to their age or some other reasons. I do find it frustrating that some people still have doubts, and it makes me angry that some media have fed into that, as well as some politicians and "personalities". And especially the federal government, when they kept flip-flopping about who should get AZ. That alone caused a lot of confusion and doubt in people. Vaccinations are literally the only thing we have to help us get past this mess.I wonder of those 113 how many chose not to get vaccinated as opposed to not eligible to get vaccinated when they got exposed. Study’s surprising Pfizer discovery
Emerging research suggests the Pfizer vaccine may be less effective against the Delta Covid-19 variant than natural immunity developed from a previous infection.www.news.com.au
If this is the case then perhaps they should have let it rip from the beginning.

correlation does not imply causation.
For instance these findings may have nothing to do with the vaccinations themselves but other behaviours. People that have had covid once before may behave differently than those that have never had it before therefore putting themselves at less risk to getting Delta. For example maybe they socially distance more, or use sanitiser more, or wear masks? The report itself notes they did not assess this.
More research needs to be done on this for me to be convinced.
In some ways NZ's strategy of going with one vaccine for the whole country is both easier and more risky. It is easier in that there is no body wanting the vaccine that is not assigned to thier age group palava we have, but a lot riskier, in that if it had been AZ and had got the blood clot reputatiation that AZ had and that was the only option, what would the uptake be like? The messsaging in this country is so confusing I have no idea anymore as to who is allowed to have what anymore - I don't know if you are any age you can go and request either, or if you are over 60 you can still only get AZ? And it really should not be like that. It should be really clear who is eligible and what they can get. And I think by now everyone should be able to go and get a vaccine if they want it, and it should be the vaccine of thier choice. It just goes to show that being vaccinated definitely reduces your chance of getting very sick. you are funnySo basically people who have had COVID before may be acting more like how everyone else should be in their social distancing, sanitiser and mask use? If that’s the case then this should be taken into account with restrictions.
That’s fine - opinions. I am convinced, lol.
you are funny
The biggest risk for NZ was a lack of supply of Pfizer, and the rollout has been very slow there for that reason. Both countries should have ordered at least 3-4 different vaccines at the start so they could start vaccinating as early as possible. I think both countries had been lulled into a sense of security by successfully (for the most part) keeping outbreaks under control via strict lockdowns. Delta variant blew that theory and now both countries have outbreaks they have so far been unable to contain. In some ways NZ's strategy of going with one vaccine for the whole country is both easier and more risky. Like being a bit dim?Though some may have a legitimate reason for not doing so.
Good to hear. When do you get your second one?Had my first Pfizer shot on Thursday.

I saw that on the news. I hope they find him and jail him!Just reading about someone who decided to set fire to a drive through testing clinic in Sydney west to "take back the power" from the "covid lies". I imagine this will mean some longer queues to get tested in an area where so much testing is occurring, with one testing site out of commission.
