the random 'LIVE' thread...

...sadly... Chantho said that she was the last of her kind in that episode too Meglos... more the pity as far as I'm concerned... I would've loved to have seen her race in more depth too... alas!... it's not to be so Doh!... cheers.

I love how, particularly in the Russell T Davies era, there were so many fantastic characters who, even though they looked like aliens, were fully formed awesome people. RTD's universe was so diverse, and it was these nice people that made it so endearing. Remember Jabe the tree-person, or Raffalo the blue plumber? Or the Face of Boe? Some of the nicest characters ever created.

...'Blink' is my all time most favourite episode of Doctor Who... the first ever appearance of the 'Weeping Angels' was pure magic and also such a scary concept for me... it also had a certain whimsical element to it for me too... all of the 'Weeping Angels' episodes after that lacked that for me at least... a great episode indeed Meglos... cheers.

'Blink' is a delight from start to finish. Sally Sparrow is the perfect companion who never was (no wonder she went on to be a Hollywood star), and the weeping angels were at their most effective in this, their first story.

I got so nostalgic watching the Capt Jack leap, last time I watched, Torchwood was on and in sync, he ran out of Cardiff and leapt - and it linked so beautifully straight into Who. RTD used to give us such wonderful treats.
I liked Blink, and Sally is superb.
I didn't think much of all the rest of those stupid statue episodes

I saw part two of this and that is an hour of my life that I'll never get back... so over to ABC ME... wha?... what da fug????... they have on at 7:50 a glowing jewel of a savior program on tonight amongst all of the rest of the trite gobsmite TV trash that goes by the name of 'Doctor Who'!... and it's the 'Sound of Drums' episode... oh glory be for ABC Me!... I love you!... I LOVE YOU!!!!... (I already knew that this was on because I've been watching them on this Channel for a while now but I just wanted to build up this post with a rousing finale that's all lol!)...

...so!... all in all... all of Commercial TV sucks so bad in the non ratings season and they as per usual treat us all with contemptuous hatred... I hate all you you crap-arsed imbeciles that treat us viewers with such contempt... you should be ashamed of yourselves for treating us like this... shame on you!... oh well... there goes my New Years resolution not to rant so much this year... and... I've only been back for what?... 3 days?... so it took them just 3 days to crack me!... bastards!!!!!... END OF RANT!...:rage::punch:... cheers.

So, MY BRILLIANT CAREER.....is there waiting for me, love that old movie

DW is the most wonderful gift, I know people scared to watch it, they are afraid it is too clever for them, silly bots, kids watch it
Donna is back on Monday, that classic fantastic scene, with them bobbing and weaving, love it.
That scene, and the one where Clara gets clocked on the noggin by potato head throwing something at her, I love the quirky bits.

I haven't turned the tv on most nights. We've been doing jigsaws!

I’ve got a jigsaw puzzle I started nearly a decade ago and never finished. Maybe I should send it to you. ;)

I like the "What If" ones where the picture is the same characters as on the box, but doing different things. 1000 pieces.

That sounds tough. I can’t even do mine which is traditional.

...hahaha!... here is a jigsaw puzzle that I would have the patience for... anymore pieces and I would chuck a fidder fadder lol!...

4-piece-jigsaw.jpg

...I once bought my dearly departed mum a 3D jigsaw puzzle of Tower Bridge in London (we lived about 2 Kilometres from it in England) as one of her Christmas presents to keep her mind occupied and after about 2 weeks it backfired on me... she told me that she had tried but couldn't do it and asked me if I could do it for her... she wanted to see it finished... I said sure... it's easy peasey... it did my head in lol!... but being the stubborn so and so that I am I finally finished it and took it to mum to show her it and she said... "it wasn't THAT easy was it?"... and grinned... coyly I had to confess to her that it was terribly hard to do... she then confessed to me that she hadn't even tried to do it because she knew that I had bought it for her just to stir her up... she then laughed her head off at me lol!... yep!... mum got the better of me... she was quite good at doing that at times...

...anyhow... that is a great memory for me to do with jigsaw puzzles... I just thought that I'd share it... lol!... cheers.

Op-shops have jigsaw communities, 1st the volunteers take them home and count/do them, then puzzle people take it home and do them, then they bring them back. donate or swap. so sustainable, rather lovely.
Doctoring right now, Pompeii and Capaldi......repeats make it clearer who I love most, and Catherine Tate

If you haven't seen this.....it is really good

Between A Frock And A Hard Place

ABC HD, 11:00pm, Tue, 23 Jan 2018, 60 minutes

REPEAT

Narrated by Terence Stamp,
this is the story behind one of the world's most loved films, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. It's about three unlikely hero-(ines) who find themselves in a backwater at the arse-end of the world, dare to step out of the shadows in their shimmering sequinned glory and be counted. It's also about how a low-budget Australian film about three 'cocks-in-frocks' changed the course of history and loudly and proudly brought to the world a celebration of gay culture that continues to resonate twenty years later.

Stephan Elliott, Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, Terence Stamp

2015, Australia, English, Documentary, Arts & Culture

Have been thinking about this astute observance watching the repeats @Meglos ......watching Martha's clone dying now, echoes of Blade Runner.
You really hit the wonder of RTD, there are so many heartfelt hero sweet characters, like that cute little spikey red robot thing in Voyage of the Damned giving up is life, and Kylie is a sweet hero.

RTD made his universe much bigger with huge heart, Moffit occasionally got there, the 50th being his best.

I am watching Donna and Wilf, and OMG I love them so. Catherine Tate is a wonder

...now that after tonight we are finally out of the wastelands of the non-ratings period at last I guess that this thread will come to an even slower pace because we'll all be frantically typing in the Celeb/Bachelor etc threads for the next few weeks... that's okay... I'm still going to come here and talk about other stuff regardless lol!... afterall... we've still got to vent our spleens about other stuff haven't we?... lol!... cheers.

...I have to say this just to get it out of my system... has anyone seen that dopey-arsed fugwit that's advertising the show 'Married at first sight'?... that guy will never get laid again in his whole life after doing that show... what a total dickflop!... and... how desperate are TV Channels when they create a show with the title 'one night with your ex'?... how sad TV is becoming with such mind numbing dross like these 2 shows?... these are sad times indeed... cheers.

...just out of curiosity... those shows that I mentioned above during my mini rant... 'Married at first sight' and 'one night with your ex'... has anyone watched them/are going to watch them when they are on?... if so... what is it about the show that compels you to want to watch them?... I'm just curious that's all...

...and... that guy in the Ad for 'Married at first sight' that's saying that the man should be the master and the woman should basically be his slave surely cannot be genuine when he speaks that drivel in this day and age surely?... oh!... I've just realised something... it's on Channel 9 isn't it?... the home of the infamous 'old boys club'... hmmmm!... that guy will probably get a full time job at the Channel after the gig I imagine... cheers.

I’m a closet MAFS fan. I’m like most men and football. They don’t like to play but they do like to watch. That’s me and romance.

WINTER OLYMPICS

Anyone watching the opening, and 2weeks of events????
Nice filler tv when things are bleak.
Personally I love watching the winter games, it is spectacular stuff - so many killer events, actually will kill you
Just watched Eddie the Eagle the other night.

They have the moguls on now, freekin hard stuff

Where/when is the opening spectacular??? Going to find a guide
