The difference between Tim and Ben.

The last 24 hours have probably been in some ways the DEFINITIVE example of the difference between Tim and Ben.

Not only have there been significant revelations as to who the REAL BEN is on the outside but we have seen 2 classic examples of Ben behaviour that clearly debunks the 'gentle soul Ben' MYTH.

Firstly...his heartless and selfish reaction to seeing a troubled Tim in the bathroom last night was telling. Not even a week earlier in that very same bathroom and when the tables were turned and it was Ben who was struggling, Tim consoled Ben with a shoulder to lean on, a hug and some genuinely empathetic words of support and encouragement. Tim showed selflessness and care towards Ben when it would have simply been easier to walk away and give him NOTHING...which is precisely what Ben offered Tim in his moment of need. Not only that, but far from returning the empathy this miserly fraud poked a stick at Tim and instead accused Tim of taking his towel. Again, even when a fellow housemate and human i struggling Bens only preoccupation is with HIMSELF AND HIS OWN NEEDS.

Secondly...in todays live feed in the bedroom, we have another definitive example of the difference between the two. Obviosuly doing a chore, doing everyones beds, Tim showed an interest and willingness to DO FOR OTHERS, a willingness to make the other housemates beds with a bit of care and attention to detail, to simply DO THE RIGHT THING. Ben on the other hand, the miserly fraud that he is, had NO INTEREST whatsoever in doing the right thing, and WHY? because as far as Ben is concerned he DOESN"T GIVE A DAMN about "THIS BED" simply because it's somebody else's and NOT HIS BED !!!!

Tim has shown time and time again that when it really matters, in particular when someone is down, he is willing to show both EMPATHY AND EFFORT......by comparison, Ben has shown that time and time again he SIMPLY DOES"T GIVE DAMN ABOUT ANYBODY BUT HIMSELF.

It has been clear to me for some time, but never more so than after these last 24 hours that it is in fact NOT BEN who has a gentle or empathetic should, but rather Tim.

Yes it all true, sadly.

Ben performed his act on stage, so for him it is another stage, just longer and more $$$ at the end. There is nothing wrong with playing the game, but as you point out he has not been very nice. You are right about Tim too.

No of course not, it is to be expected that every housemate will 'play the game' or 'a game' to an extent, everyone has a strategy of sorts and that is in my book perfectly acceptable...what isn't acceptable however is to manufacture an in house persona that is significantly removed from your real world persona.

I believe every housemate to EVER walk into the BB house has to some extent played up to the cameras, basic things like laugh a little more boisterously, perhaps be a little more affectionate than usual, perhaps gossip more than usual, perhaps even embellish a few stories....all basic run of the mill stuff to come across as being a little more interesting and entertaining.

However, what I think Ben has done more so than ANY housemate this season is to change his persona to a point where that persona is now so far removed from what he really is that it could only be described as a LIE But this isn't just any old lie like one of those little white lies designed to create a stir or to take the p!ss out of someone for a laugh and some fun, Bens lie is far more significant that just that....BEN ISN'T JUST LYING, HE IS PULLING ONE HELL OF A CUNNING RUSE......and to take a leaf out of Bens incredibly self centered and selfish book I ask "What do WE get out of it?" ....a boring ponce acting all sob by and sad, whinging and whining and generally doing SFA !!!

I know he is acting. I saw the article where he was a stand up comedian, and was playing the part, he is now playing in the house. The article said he was good at it. So I know he is a confident man and he knows what he is doing. I understand him though, for the money he must think, all he has to do is act for 3 months. If he is on Centerlink he even gets more money and a free holiday.

Now, we don't have to like it. If people don't know the truth about him, that is deceptive. I feel for the people who believe he is this gentle, poor, down on his luck, can't fend for himself, naive person. They will spend their money and I feel they have been cheated.

He is quite funny . I like him. I don't want him to win necessary but I like him
