The Big Adventure

Having read about the "Sky-Rig" I was prepared for some gigantic sea-based arena. Finally got around to watching it today to discover it's a bit of scaffolding in the sea.

It's not bad - formats like this will always feel like a rip-off of Survivor and this doesn't really add anything new - feels like it's well over a decade late to the party. Not sure on the Captain's Pick elimination process - I'd rather see a twist where if the winner digs up three rocks they are eliminated.

So Todd is pretty dumb then - any show like this it's important not to get blood on your hands early on by evicting people others will resent. Real bad move evicting Dean - and obviously he saw him more as an emotional threat with his story considering others had appeared a much stronger physical threat. Evicting Sean or possibly Mark would have made more sense, or as you say Jess - nobody would hate that and she is a genuine physical threat.

I do think the double element of winning the keys and the eliminations might be this forums undoing - surely it's just going to get to the point where the people with the most keys are always the target for eviction.

Did they air an episode on Monday after or not - or is the series such a flop nobody is bothering to upload it anymore?

I've watched two episodes so far, the first one and the one on last night (botox-rep Jess evicted).
I don't know whether it's because I'm just new to this survivor-type reality tv or whether it's due to bb's lack of anything substantive whatsoever this year (apart from Prisus) but I'm actually liking it more than bb at the moment. I didn't expect the guy with the saddest story to get evicted so early, I definitely didn't expect the top dog chef to get evicted first, and I thought the producers would have wanted to keep in shit-stirring Jess for a while longer too.

I'm liking all this surprise, but I'm kind of worried for the show at the moment because it seems like all the interesting players are getting evicted and leaving the more placid and (thus far) less interesting players to get crushed by Todd. Julie, the blondie in love with Todd and the injured mother don't seem to be adding much to the show at the moment.

I wonder what happens to the keys of an evicted person?
The announcer guy said last night that a keyholder's keys go to a person of their choosing. I don't know what happens if they have multiple keys, they'll probably be able to give it to multiple people o__o maybe

I was wondering about that too until I realized they must just be evicted from the (key-gathering part of the ) game. Once all the keys are gathered there'll be the "unlocking ceremony" for everyone who managed to get a key along the way.

I'm another huge Survivor/Jeff ( :inlove: ) fan too, so I've been watching this with somewhat mild interest. Nowhere near as glossy or professional as Survivor, and like @Brekkie said, that bit of scaffolding shoved in the water seemed so much more promising!

I'm annoyed that Todd and Von got rid of Dean, I think that was a pretty low thing to do as out of all of them, Dean had the best reason for wanting to win. Hope it bites Todd on the arse, and bites him hard. I'm not minding TC, he is so laid back he's almost horizontal. I'm a country girl and I know plenty of people who are just like him, so I've got a bit of a soft spot :shamefully: I missed Mondays ep though. So Jess went home then? She annoyed the crap out of me but in a good way. Thought she was gonna be in it for a while with the edit she was getting.

UGH.

Today's Sunday Mail (Adelaide) TV Guide has a little bit under the heading "Reality Bites", about tonight & tomorrow's episodes, It only goes and blurts out tonight's evictee. Obviously I won't spoil it for anyone, but I'm pissed they spoiled it for me.

Better not be Todd <.<

Very bizarre that eliminated players have to give up their key to someone. Thought it a much better idea to have everyone return at the end.
I thought that myself, it just makes the game less interesting. I liked the idea of not being able to change destiny, so the first key dug up could have been the winning key, but it means anyone with a key automatically becomes a target.

It's a pretty flawed voting system really. It's a bit ridiculous putting the fate of a player in the hands of 2 team captains in a schoolyard pick. At least in Survivor you need a majority vote, here it's simply a case of "pick one of these two", and of course they are going to eliminate the biggest threats each time.

Agree, but keyholders won't necessarily be targets.
1) If you get chosen to be evicted by someone are you really going to give your key to them? No, you'll probably give it to someone else, and in that case...
2) Most people will try to form alliances and be 'loyal' to keyholders so that if they do get evicted they pass the keys over.

So I think really, the more keys someone has the nicer everyone will be to them. Sure, people will want them evicted, but nobody would want to do it themselves.
