The Bachelorette

Fairly obvious that young Osher was so pumped with his chest out because he had just listened to some Tina Arena. Some Sorrento Moon, or maybe some Wasn't it good?

As I was heading out, I saw a teaser for a segment on a Current Affair, so stood and watched as they chased Michael around a carpark trying to shame him about his slight exaggerations re his sporting history, and featured all these seriously angry shaming tweets from sports peeps - it was really awful. Michael didn't really say anything, just looked a little embarrassed and tense. (Of course, Channel Nine would be slathering at the bit to do this, anything to disparage their new competitor, Ten.)

The poor fucker - but at least he is taking some of the heat off David the International Model. The 'press' are being really horrible towards him. It's like a shark feeding frenzy. God help the poor sucker who has anything seriously bad to yet be uncovered in his past...

Gees, it's a bit of an exaggeration, that's it. He would have to be a very good player and have put in a hell of a lot of work to even get selected, which nobody is disputing he was. Forget all the years of playing to get there. All they seem to be interested in is bringing him down.

Just like the people chasing after him for a story call themselves journalists. Exaggeration much?

Wow poor Michael. It was probably more the producers who pushed that angle anyway. Either way, so not a big deal in the grand scheme and I'm sure all of them have something that's been embellished or unnecessarily focussed on as a "schtick" for their series that they wouldn't normally list as their first thing.

Wow 58 pages for this already.

I haven't watched any of the bachelor Australia seasons. Not even one single episode, even though I was related to Rochelle in S1.

However, just watching bachelorette episode one on replay on Ten atm and I think Sam is charming and genuine. I've watched some of the US version years ago and I am finding these 'first meetings' refreshingly Australian and genuine. I like that she has been honest with the guys and it's not too formal.

I think I might try to watch the series.

I've read some stuff about the model dude. He was creepy from the first moment.

Yesss you must stick around. It's clearly THE show of the forum and you're missing all the fun. No joke, this place lured me into the last series when I had never watched an episode before.

the thing is he WAS on the squad to play in Sydney Olympics - he was an unused substitute ... he plays goalie I think ... if you've got a good goalie in place you'd only replace him if he was injured ... you don't swap that position for the fun of it
Still he would have been doing all the training with the squad ... felt the excitement ... etc etc ... and rightly says he was part of 'the team'

He has played for teams overseas ... maybe not a lot ... and maybe he's not a Tim Cahill etc ... but still - what has been said essentially was the truth

David couldn't handle someone else possibly being more known ... more "international" than him ... and felt threatened by the competition and didn't handle it at all well.

Michael isnt up himself - and Sam has already noted that. If David hadn't kept talking about himself maybe she would have seen some other side to him .... if indeed he had another side to him ...

My thoughts after watching episode 2: -

  • Dave the plumber is not really someone who does much for me, but it did seem like they had a good date - she definitly had moments of nervousness
  • I hate to burst Sam's bubble but them making the jump off the cliff had nothing to do with taking a leap of faith and wanting her, it was about facing their own fears, and about not losing face in front of the other guys.
  • I didn't understand the appeal of drew in episode 1, but I am pleased she picked him for the alone time, cos I got to understand the appeal more. He seems like he would be interesting to have a chat with, and he does look better with the man bun.
  • Sam so looked like she wanted to punch zoolander - i wonder if she regretted not getting rid of him on night 1?
  • Who I like and who I think will win differs!
  • Thanks again for the commentary - i went back to read again as I watched!

i think somewhere else was reporting this was serious but that he'd removed it?
would hope he really was intending it as a joke and a poke of fun at himself.

when you think about it - he's had to go back and do voiceovers etc for the edited show ... because there was some narrative by him that wasn't done to camera - must have been added after the fact ... so he would have been well aware of the edit he was getting ...

In an Instagram video posted after last night’s episode aired, the 32-year-old made fun of himself and his career choice by announcing an official launch of the David Witko School For International Models.

“Do you want to learn how to international model? Of course you do,” he starts.

You can watch the video below. Post continues after video.

Okay. Okay. Okay. Props to David for being able to laugh at himself. We only hope classes include ‘How to respect women’ and ‘When to stop talking’.

His website, which is actually just a page on Google Docs, is as entertaining as his time in the Bachelorette Mansion.

Here’s what you can expect from his modelling course.

“Being an international model is more than just runway, fashion parties and flawless looks.

I have specifically designed a course to educate aspiring models, and equip them with the physical and mental essentials to succeed on the global stage.
