I think he knows on some level, he clearly didn't want to be kissed by Romy or Cat. At the very least, he's not really that keen on them, and other than looks I'm sure personality/character must have played some part in that.

I expect he is told by the producers to keep them in for a while, for the drama even if he doesn't like them.
 
Thoughts:
I'm pretty sure Romy is like, 40 years old.
Cass is being kept in as a non-funny running joke now.
Cat has the smallest face on the biggest head I've ever seen.
Emily (who?) doesn't speak, just simply grins. That's it.
This is a two horse race, just pick Brooke or Britney, and let's end this.
Vanessa Sunshine as the next Bachelorette! Cast a 25 guys she hates, but she HAS to pick one.
 
Do these girls know who the Bachelor is going to be when they apply to be on this show?

If not, Cass was looking for love with someone other than Nick who she was no longer dating (if ever she was at a serious level).

As soon as she sees him she is head over heels in love again - with more rights to him than the other girls (in her mind). Whilst Romy might have been being a bitch when talking about her to Nick’s sister, she got one thing right. Cass is a very young 23.

I’m sure it’s making good tv, but for goodness sake producers, let Nick send her home before she is hurt anymore.

As far as I know, the girls don't know who the bachelor is going to be until they arrive in the limo.

In a civilian season, yes. But I know they advertised it was Sophie Monk before applications were closed and I think they did this time as well? Also with Ali being the next Bachelorette I feel like there are people who applied knowing they were going to be meeting her if they got picked.
 
I watched.
So many poor unsuspecting buses having people thrown under them.

I don't like Badge much and most of the girls are horrible, so it's tough viewing.
Surely he has been instructed to keep Romy and Cat in, he can't possibly be seeing anything nice there. Smug-faced Alisha is truly awful too.
Vanessa Sunshine is sweetness and light compared to those three.

Yeah but the filming would be well underway by the time they advertise it on tv.
 
The coincidence of one of the girls just happening to have a history with the Bachelor is astronomical, so obviously Cass was sought out and recruited.

The more you watch, the more you wonder why ANY of these girls want him. The one-on-one time with Sophie was 100% CRINGE! Run, girl! Maybe they could hook her up with Richie who seems more suited.

Watching, I am literally Vanessa Sunshine. She's the only one who gave an honest real reaction to him. All twenty four other girls CAN'T POSSIBLY have thought he was hot shit.

His hair last night was dreadful, like an old mop. Yet not one girl so far has commented on it, and all but Vanessa are acting like he's the man of their dreams. I would say that the makeover episode is still to come, but as they are running Honey Badger ads alongside the show, I'm not sure they'd be wanting to change his brand now.

She probably listed him as a past "boyfriend" on her application. Either that, or else she's a major plant and thus deserves a role on Home And Away as a shunned girlfriend. Oh, wait.......

Vanessa, was never a villian or a bitch, she is the 'duck out of water' they always cast 1 at least, they lie to somebody a bit snobby, a bit classy, often recruited, they don't belong......and they generally give us the cynical viewer viewpoint

Looks like they went recruiting from all the girl footy/rugby clubs.....we have 2 at least, Cass & Brooke, maybe others too
