The Bachelor 2017

What more could a man want than dessert and a hot woman?
Not sure which one he went for, but Jenn got a rose.

So SA cop Michelle goes home, one of the only normal ones there. Dodged another bullet!

Well that choice said a lot about him. I think there are a few girls he will not end up with as he wants to see them grovel around him. Lisa will go soon as she didn't let him win the tennis in their first date,,, his ego can't handle that.

...(sorry folks... this is going to be a long one)... his ego is what controls Matty's decisions (from what I think anyway) Isee... he got dumped and publicly humiliated last year on National TV... (I didn't even see it) but I think that the women this year are paying the penalty for that now as far as I'm concerned... he likes them all being at his whimsy and 'dumbing themselves down' as they all obviously are... when he decides to 'pull a woman into line' by getting rid of them it's usually because he thinks that they are better than him intellectually and that he actually 'fears them' for being so too... he has no natural charm about him and his 'charm and charisma' is totally scripted as far as I'm concerned...

...when he does those sudden 'lunge kisses' he has honed that move with his hand and finger as a tongue a thousand times before now... he has no 'natural moves' in his repertoire at all I reckon... he's childlike in his awkwardness towards 'wooing' the ladies... he comes across as a mamby-pamby 'mummy's boy' so much that it's gringey and as I've said once before now... he watches too many Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn type of 'love' movies from the 50's and early 60's and thinks that that is what love is about in my opinion...

...I have never seen any earlier seasons on this show but I sure hope that the other guys have had more balls than Matty before now otherwise I have no confidence that this show will continue forever somehow... yes I know that it is all scripted dross but they can only insult the viewing public for so long until even the die-hard fans stop viewing it... as a newly recruited viewer to the show I don't have to measure Matt's performance against previous Bachelors so it's easy for me to say all of this from a 'fresh' point of view I guess?...

...Matty is a spoiled brat that was 'jilted at the alter' and now it's showing through big time... (more so as the weeks go by)... he needs to grow up and grow some balls... he doesn't deserve Michelle or Jennifer so I hope that Jennifer gives him a miss if she ends up in the final two (it will never happen that she will be... it's not hard to figure out is it?)... he will no doubt end up with the one that is the most submissive one that panders up to his massive ego and will also be a blond that reminds him of his 'ideal woman'... his sister... I really feel that he is measuring them all up on who is the closest to him all the time... (I'm not hinting that he fancies his sister by the way... just that he sees her as an 'ideal woman')...

...and yes... I'm pissed off that he got rid of Michelle without ever taking her out on a singles date before he got rid of her too... does this always happen on these shows?... someone told me that it happened to Matty last year but he DID eventually get picked... so he of all people should know what it feels like to be in that position so why do it to these girls?... he should know better... he's an immature little spoiled git as far as I'm concerned... I did say at the beginning of the season that I'd stay with the show until the end and I intend to do just that but jeez!... they're making it hard with dross like this... but as few of you have told me before... stay for the laughs if nothing else... so I am... lol!... sorry about the short novel everyone but sometimes... cheers.

Interesting post. I will just share some thoughts from paragraph 3 and 4 in mine.

Five seasons of the Bachelor and only two have been decent guys (Season 1: Tim and Season 3: Sam). They have really missed the mark with the other guys selected.

I agree that Jennifer deserves better. I hope the rumours are true about her. As far as who he will choose in the end, the odds are suggesting that it won't be a blonde. I hope they are right.

AND

TV Guide suggesting one Bachelorette gets her first single date with Matty tomorrow. Must be Jennifer surely?

...oh okay... so it seems that as with all shows of this kind... the earliest seasons are probably the best then?... just like Big Brother was... and... that spoiler was great to see!... you're spoilers are always great reading Affable... thanks for posting them my friend... cheers.

I think so. Season 2 was the worst though. I wouldn't watch that one again.

Only other one who hasn't had a single date is Elise. I would say it is going the other way though.

I agree with Affable. Though I didn't like them much, Tim and Sam were decent enough guys. Richie too, though he was kind of on Matty's level of (im)maturity. Blake was an abomination.

...okay Affable/Meglos... I've 'Googled' them and have found these images of Tim and Sam... okay... who was the best ever out of the two of them?... actually... everyone... who was the best as far as being the best 'catch' out of the two of them?... lol!... Tim is on the left... Sam is on the right...cheers.

Yes it always happens so no point getting mad about it. There are, what, 20 people at the beginning of the show? If they have to take every person out on a single date, that would be no time on the show for anything else.

So there will always be people who don't get dates even late into the game, which I think is fine in itself BUT I think it sucks that he gave Michelle the first rose in the first episode pre-ceremony and then didn't take her on a single date. Because doing that sort of thing in the context of this show is similar to saying "hey you made a HUGE first impression" and carries an unspoken promise of a follow-up.

I think Michelle is too mature for "Matty". Disappointed he kept drama-Jen (but he's not a puppet of the producers and how dare anyone say that!). I am now rooting for Tara. I love the way they kiss and look at each other... Probably she is this year's Heather stand-in, though. He really is a clueless dill, I am thinking.
