The Bachelor 2 (2014)

last night's show was pretty boring - other than to watch the reactions of the eliminated girls when the dates were being shown

I am hoping that Blake HAS finally seen past the Mills & Boons narration that is Jess ... he's been hinting at a lack of substance behind the chemistry ... but honestly I even question the chemistry ... I just am sooo turned off by the fakeness

Can't wait for tonight's ep. I remember last season being able to see Anna as the clear winner after the family meetings, I hope tonight gives us similar insight!

I think Jess will go tonight. And Sam will be the final rose. (Even though I'm still holding hope for Lisa)

Just starting on Sam's family here but
looking on her instagram she doesn't seem to wear the necklace anymore - I wonder if that's a spoiler or producers told her not to wear it. Possibly neither.

Just when I thought Jess was finally going...he throws a spanner into the works before the ad break. Come on Blake!

Wow what a show, meeting all the parents went real well I thought.

Jess is gone, and in a way kudos to her for not putting on the mills and boon shenanigans and was honest with Blake that it takes a long time to fall deeply in love. Her dads answer to Blake's question (when fishing on the beach) if Jess is ready, probably helped Blake's decision. Id don't think Jess even shed a tear, so good choice Blakey boy.

Sams youngest brother was a hoot when he spoke. Blake proposes in the finale, I cant see him doing it with Sam, but can see him proposing to Louise or Lisa. They are all quality ladies

PS Why didn't Sam wear the necklace In the rose ceremony, she said she wears it all the time. Weird one that

Yes, I agree with everything you've said @Stefan

I was pleasantly surprised with Louise tonight.. I really think she might be the one. She handles herself so well. She's got everything together.

I think Blake has a major soft spot for Sam and that's where I see the deepest connection, but she does seem to be struggling to let him in.

The next few episodes are going to be so exciting.
I really hope no matter who he chooses, that they're still together and are happy.

I noticed Sam put a photo on instagram 1 day ago of her and friends at a festival in Melbourne and she says she can honestly say it was the best day of her life.
But I'm sure if she was the one who Blake proposed to, THAT would be the best day of her life.
Just found that interesting. ..

Great ep. Love the meeting families. Louise dad is a hot older man lol. I can see where she gets her looks from. Im guessing its between Louise or Lisa

I think the whole proposal thing was just staged for ratings, regardless of who it's to. I mean there's no way Blake would legitimately propose to someone at the end of this.

Possibly.. but the US Bachelor often ends with a proposal, ring and all, and they say their 'engaged'.. so I don't know?
I like what Tim did last year, I think that was his way of staying true to himself even if there was pressure from the producers.

Great observation about Sam, kltaylor. Also from last nights episode I thought leaving Sam to be left with Jess to choose from, then asking Jess for a chat was also an indication Sam is very much in the firing line to be eliminated next. Has been her fault really, I would have thought if you have found the right one , you would be open about it and not leave anything to "what if" afterwards. She said her family liking Blake was a deal breaker, and they all did even her best friend her sister, yet she still held back, "thinking about his other dates". Sure it is hard but maybe she has just over thought things too much. The other girls also thought about the other "meet the parent" dates but they also gave Blake 100% support that they want him as a life partner.

I think the whole proposal thing was just staged for ratings, regardless of who it's to. I mean there's no way Blake would legitimately propose to someone at the end of this.

I'm not to sure , I'm banking he he genuinely proposes. He has said all along that he wants to find a life partner from this, and in recent episodes has said that after meeting and getting to know a few of the girls he believes in this process that he will. I think it will be Louise , oh gosh she is going to be so happy. But will feel devastated for Lisa. Sam is the dark horse now id say

And they are off to South Africa :D

It is a sort of move I could see Blake making, but at the same time I'm thinking there's no way it could be genuine. I mean by the end of this they would have had maybe 4-5 single dates in a very romanticised and unrealistic environment. On top of that there's the huge elephant in the room of Blake living in Perth and they've yet to see how they work through that hurdle together. It just seems so soon, and unlike last year where I felt Tim had a much deeper connection with Anna than all the others, it's much closer this year and I really don't think he's even made his mind up yet. I mean I thought Sam had it locked up but her stocks took a massive fall last night.

I think I'm leaning towards him proposing but there being an unaired understanding that they won't really be "engaged" when they start dating in the real world. I've heard that's what happens on the US show. I say if it ever progresses that far there will be a real and un-televised proposal further down the track.

Fair enough

This is where probably Sam and Jess are being more realistic about taking it slow or opening up too soon, but also their downfall.

Ive enjoyed our Bachelor shows last year and this year (compared to the US ones which I avoid, though I did like that Sean guy and the brunette he chose)

Blake must still be rating Sam very highly if he's prepared to keep hanging in there in the face of her on again/off again ...
I can understand where she is coming from and I tend to question whether Louise and Lisa CAN be all that 100% about it ... I would also hate knowing that he's going around having a deep and meaningful relationship with 2 other top contenders and would be reluctant to put it all out there and get my heart trampled on for the whole nation to see ...

after last night I ended up thinking Lisa is the top contender

did anyone else get the feeling that Jess' family home wasn't up to scratch hence showing him where they holiday? it seemed a bit odd ... and did that then mean for Sam's home visit they chose whoever had the nicest home in which to stage the family get together?

reality check people! we don't all have to have lovely homes in beautiful beachside/snow country/rural areas to find luuurrrrrvvvve!!

but honestly a proposal? surely that's just a bit of hamming it up for the camera for a promo opportunity to boost ratings!? he's going to go from having 3 very very closely rated women to proposing? in the course of one trip to South Africa and three very romantic dates?

its not like Blake is going to be able to afford to keep the standard of dates so high ... eventually he won't have his lovely Bachelor Pad ... he was talking to Jess as if he expects to live together immediately if he's going to be moving interstate to be with 'The One' ... I just think anyone would be nuts to want to propose before the hype settles and they can try to have any real time together without all the bells & whistles supplied by the show ...

I was never a huge fan of Jess but have to admit I admired her for NOT wanting to pushed too far too fast last night .. but there was still a shout of glee and a fist pump when she left :) (yeah - I'm mean - get over it ;) lol

I'm not sure of any of you have seen this but just thought I'd let you know.

The Bachelor Aus facebook page has 'behind the scenes' photos from the family visits.
There is a photo of Blake and Lisa sitting on the beach with a big picnic sprawled out plus a pic of them in the water.
Obviously there was much more to their date than shown. Maybe to throw us off? As they were the only ones shown to not do much before meeting the family.
They look super cute together in the pics, go check them out!
