Columbo
Never again
We went through this yesterday, Columbo. I did not, and have not, ever stated that we should be empathetic or promote any views that promote violence or hatred. As you may recall, I addressed this with you yesterday:
Please refrain from cherry picking words and twisting them to suit your narrative. It's frustrating and comes across as combative, unintelligent and distasteful.
I'm not sure if you're attempting to come across as witty, or clever, or even controversial lately, but you're unsuccessful. You come as across as bitter, childish and nasty. You've been here a long time and built relationships with these people, so is burning all your bridges really worth the nastiness you're projecting? Even people who have long had your back appear to be distancing themselves from you.
As I said, I'm not going to railroad Affable's thread as that wouldn't be fair to him, so I'll move on from this conversation with you and just agree to disagree. C'est la vie.
Don't play the superior card now, it comes across as disingenuous. You said that we should be open to all views, you never said with exception of those that promote hatred and violence. And quite frankly it's a little weird you started being all concerned about being open when the whole conversation started because a troll was trolling the virus thread by promoting the toxic views of a woman who advocates violence. I'm not twisting or cherry picking anything.
And I'm not coming across but anything but me. Someone who will stand up for what they believe in with the utmost passion. Though it concerns me that you think that taking a stand against a troll promoting hatred and bigotry and those who support said troll is childish and nasty. I would have thought that those promoting and encouraging said bigoted views are being the childish and nasty ones.
And these are just strangers on the forum. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not going to temper my opinion so as not to burn non existent bridges.
